The Gateway Region YMCA has an opening for a Cause-Driven leader to provide leadership to two YMCA branches in Monroe and Randolph Counties in Illinois.The Monroe County Y is a full facility YMCA serving Columbia, Waterloo, and surrounding areas just minutes east of St. Louis. The Randolph County YMCA serves the city of Red Bud, Illinois as a program center that operates camps, sports, and wellness programs in the community.This position provides direct oversight of the Monroe County Y and supervises the Senior Program Director that leads the Randolph County Y.This is a great opportunity for a multi-branch leadership experience.

The Gateway Region YMCA has been serving the bi-state region for more than 160 years as one of the leading health and human service organizations in the St. Louis metropolitan area.The Gateway Region Y was formed by a strategic alliance of the YMCA of Southwest Illinois and the YMCA of Greater St Louis in 2014.The Y has 24 traditional branch locations, 5 non-facility branches including Trout Lodge/Camp Lakewood and more than 120 program sites throughout the bi-state region covering St. Louis City, seven Missouri counties, and six counties in southwest Illinois. Qualifications
Education:Bachelor’s Degree in business, human service, nonprofit management, hospitality, social service, or equivalent
Experience: 5 or more years of management experience in a YMCA or other nonprofit agency and YUSA Organizational Leader Certification preferred
Special skills:
- Excellent interpersonal, oral communication, and writing skills
- Proven experience attracting and engaging policy and program volunteers
- Successfully lead, recruit, and develop full and part time staff
- Maintain and grow charitable fundraising efforts
- Evaluate community needs and develop programs to meet those needs
- Demonstrate innovative thinking, program development, and change capacity
Essential Functions
position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Under the direction of the District Vice President, the selected candidate oversees the total operation of the Monroe and Randolph County YMCAs, including membership, corporate relationships, marketing, programs, facilities, volunteer and staff development, financial development, community relations and collaborations with community agencies.
Candidates must demonstrate successful experience in project management, staff supervision/training, program development, fiscal management, volunteer development, board development, and fundraising.The candidate must possess excellent written and oral communication skills along with a proven record of accomplishment for staff development, community partnerships, program supervision and fundraising.
