VP, Strategic Sourcing

Key Responsibilities
  • Create a vision for and execution of Global Strategic Sourcing
  • Implement standard processes, category management, engage low total cost suppliers, risk mitigation, supplier relationship management
  • Maintain/improve QAD strategic sourcing parameters
  • Deliver Materials cost reductions, through strategic sourcing activities (including make vs. buy analysis) for all Autocar platforms.
  • Work with GVW group finance to launch project “quantum leap” for incremental business cost reductions.
  • Manage supplier price increase requests related to strategic sourcing activities (e.g. tariff/material markets/logistics)
  • Support Autocar Parts via negotiated contract terms and with delivery/performance issues involving shared suppliers
  • Negotiate long-term agreements with all Suppliers
  • Source/negotiate capital equipment purchases
  • Identify and leverage new suppliers/technologies to establish competitive advantage for the company
  • Actively identify and move parts to VMI (pull replenishment)
  • Execute “fix or leave” strategy for bottom ten supplier performers
  • Manage chronic supplier delivery/quality issues as identified by planning, quality or purchasing
  • Sponsor supplier technology reviews and summits

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience; Masters preferred
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; Ability to effectively communicate well with all levels of the organization
  • 15+ years’ of relevant work experience in global supply chain & procurement, sourcing, Quality Control
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Proven ability to drive cohesion and collaboration among many different people & functions
  • Confidence, presence, and credibility to command the respect of colleagues and senior stakeholders, especially within Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Services, Logistics, and Finance
  • Adaptable / Flexible – being open to change in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstances
  • Organizational skills, with ability to manage competing priorities
  • Strong Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and MS-Project skills
