Responsibilities

  • Maintains and/or optimizes PMO organizational structure, processes and policies.
  • Overseas and directs the PMO in working with other department leaders (internal or client-facing) to define, scope, prioritize, and develop projects and programs.
  • Support the management team by providing leadership and program management control on key initiatives that contemplate budget, scope, resource capacity, current resource allocations, schedule, governance, intake, change management, etc.
  • Leads determination of overall work breakdown structure and resourcing for large and complex projects, including impact assessment on other projects; drives project execution, including overall ownership of project resources.
  • Provide performance monitoring, information and reporting; help diagnose root cause of problems and mitigate risks.
  • Ensure teams are taking corrective action as necessary to deliver complete scope, desired quality and timeliness of strategic programs and work stream projects.
  • Provide logistical & decision support for governance structure, including metrics, dashboards, reporting delivery and monthly meeting cadence on strategy and operations reviews; overall performance results to defined and agreed upon measurements.
  • Provide leadership visibility into risk analysis, remediation and downstream impacts on current or planned projects.
  • Lead and direct efforts associated with the development of monthly, quarterly, etc. leadership reports and presentations of program related work, results, lessons learned, etc.
  • Coordinate and provide coaching across multiple PMO Program Managers and / or Project Managers to help develop PMO team competencies and to ensure programs and/or projects are executed and delivered to documented standards.
  • Creates and promotes a culture of collaboration, team-work and fun while delivering to or exceeding expectations.

General Job functions:

  • Meet with project sponsors to take detailed ordering briefs and clarify specific requirements of each project.
  • Delegate project tasks based on junior staff members’ individual strengths, skill sets and experience levels.
  • Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short- and long-term goals
  • Meet budgetary objectives and adjust project constraints based on financial analysis
  • Develop comprehensive project plans to be shared with leadership as well as other staff members and project team

Requirements

  • **(RN) Registered Nurse**
  • PMP Certification preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Experience:

  • 3-5 years relevant project management and/or management experience from a Healthcare IT environment.
  • Knowledge of project & program management methodologies, tools & techniques.
  • Ability to creatively operationalize concepts and strategies that may be new and maturing in details and structure.
  • Independent thinker and problem-solver; comfortable working in changing client organizational environment.
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, organizational and communication skills.
  • Strong ability to collaborate with peers to define business process issues, analyze operational efficiencies, implement creative solutions, and measure delivery results.
  • Strong ability to positively point out risk and failures in face of dissenting views; willingness to take on challenges
