The Software Project Manager is a critical part of the CAPSHER team. This role’s primary mission is to watch over and drive the entire CAPSHER project consumption process. From discovery to delivery, the Project Manager makes sure we are focused on the right work, at the right time, to deliver the right solution. Detailed requirements, clear communications, thorough planning, strategic risk mitigation, efficient team coordination and collaboration, quality and on-schedule deliverables are common targets of the Software Project Manager.

Responsibilities:
Your daily activities typically include:

  • Working with a client and a consultant to understand their product needs.
  • Documenting requirements.
  • Diagramming user workflows.
  • Drawing wireframes or user interactions.
  • Create and maintain the project schedule, aka “Product Roadmap”.
  • Coordinating with the technical team to plan software development schedules and activities.
  • Planning sprints with an implementation lead and client.
  • Validating software deliverables to ensure we build what we defined.
  • Coordinating QA and release schedules.
  • Presenting demos to clients.
  • Documenting release plans, QA plans, and deployment plans.
  • Balancing competing priorities.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate:

  • Has 1+ years professional experience as a project manager, systems analyst, or business analyst.
  • Holds experience working with software development teams.
  • Is experienced at leading and motivating teams.
  • Demonstrates exceptional communication skills.
  • Demonstrates a high attention to detail.
  • Understands and reflects the high level architecture of software systems.
  • Is familiar with agile development practices, and is willing to adapt those to the Capsher project consumption process.
  • Shows proficiency designing and adjusting the user interface with wireframes or mockups.
  • Communicates clearly and comfortably over videoconference, chat clients, email, phone, and in person.
  • Quickly learns new technology for project work, such as JIRA, Microsoft Azure DevOps, Google Sheets.
  • Is able to perform physical demands including: using computer equipment in an office setting, occasionally lifting and moving objects up to 40 pounds, and occasionally traveling to meet with clients in person.
  • Is a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, asylee, refugee, or temporary resident. Temporary residents do not include those with nonimmigrant work authorization (F, J, H or L visas), such as students in practical training status. Exceptions to these requirements may be determined based on shortage of qualified candidates with a particular skill. CAPSHER will require proof of work authorization.
