Summary
We are mandated by a Boston-based investment firm, who recently invested in a top-tier Clinical Trials Organization with the intent to grow into the premier multi-site operator in the Northeast, to find the CEO to lead this Organization. The Company conducts Phase II – IV clinical studies. Through its track record of strong performance and its team of experienced Principal Investigators and Study Coordinators, the Company has established relationships with leading pharmaceutical companies and CROs.
We are currently looking to hire an Executive who will start today as Director of Clinical Operations and is expected to grow into the CEO role in the next 6-12 months. As Director of Clinical, the Executive will manage day-to-day clinical operations of the Company, including patient recruitment. As CEO, he/she will also assume responsibility for the Company’s financial performance and growth.
The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of relevant industry experience, having held position(s) managing clinical trials and leading teams of Principal Investigators, Study Coordinators, and support staff. As Director of Clinical, the Executive will report to the current CEO of the Company; upon becoming CEO, he/she will report directly to the Board. This is a unique opportunity to become part of a growing platform with a tremendous upside.
Relevant past experience with either a:
- Clinical Trials Site or a Multi Clinical Trial Site Operator
- Clinical Research Organization
Key Responsibilities as Director of Clinical Operations:
- Manage day-to-day clinical operations including supervising Principal Investigators, Study Coordinators, Raters, and Support staff
- Oversee quality assurance and quality control to ensure compliance of the clinical processes with all relevant regulations, Good Clinical Practices, and ensure accuracy of data
- Oversee patent recruitment, enrollment and retention; design and implement marketing campaigns to support enrollment in the trials
- Oversee onboarding and training of clinical staff
- Participate in hiring and development of clinical staff
Key Responsibilities as CEO (in addition to responsibilities of Director of Clinical)
- Manage the Company’s financial performance; meet targets established by the Board
- Improve efficiency and effectiveness of the company’s operations
- Originate new business and manage the pipeline of upcoming trials
- Negotiate contracts with CROs and Sponsors
- Take ownership of trial processes, ensure accuracy of data collection
- Design and implement marketing campaigns to improve trial enrollment
- Travel as necessary to win new business and attend conferences
- Assist with future site acquisitions and integration of sites across the platform as may be directed by the BoardRequirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline. NP or RN certification highly preferred. Business degree is a plus, but not required.
- 7+ years of relevant experience conducting and leading clinical trials
- Experience with Psychology and/or Neurology is highly preferred
- Entrepreneurial mindset. Track record of achieving tangible results with limited resources
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Meticulous attention to detail
