Classification: Exempt/Full Time

Organization Mission: Building strong, sustainable communities for residents and owners.

Summary: Founded in 1992, SHP Management Corp manages over 70 properties consisting of 11,000+ units of Section 8 Family, mixed-use 236, LIHTC and a limited number of commercial spaces. SHP has grown to over 400 full time and part time employees. The President is accountable to SHP’s owners and is the steward of property management excellence. They ensure operations are compliant with all governing organizations and are responsible for the financial health of the company.

Essential Functions:

1. Strategy

  • Works with owners to design long-term strategic direction and create buy-in
  • Communicates company direction and drives organizational success
  • Leverages creative solutions to remain competitive
  • Identifies and manages risk inherent to the affordable housing industry
  • Monitors macroeconomic and industry trends
  • Maintains and strengthens strategic partnerships2. Financial Oversight
  • Oversees budgeting, allocation of resources and drives profitability
  • Preserves capital and invests when necessary
  • Actively monitors key performance indicators and course corrects if appropriate
  • Keeps owners abreast of pertinent data and financial results

3. Management Effectiveness

  • Oversees and leads senior-level management
  • Fosters a culture of continuous improvement
  • Strives to drive operations that exceed industry standards and delivers superior service
  • Leverages information technology to achieve operational efficiencies

4. Stakeholder Focus

  • Creates and maintains relationships with the community and industry leaders
  • Collaborates and communicates with internal and external stakeholders to inspire confidence and trust
  • Ensures properties are adequately maintained and develops programs that align with participant needs
  • Upholds the company’s reputation with clients, vendors and residents to the highest degree

Core Competencies:

  • A minimum of 7 years’ experience leading a similar sized and type of organization
