  • POSITION SUMMARY
    • The primary role of the Project Manager will be to provide project management services on assigned projects to ensure successful delivery of identified goals and objectives for Elliot Health System. The Project Manager provides leadership in a matrix environment, to manage the work of project team members in all project-related responsibilities. These responsibilities will involve partnering with project owners to develop business cases, assisting in objective setting, establishing business requirements, solutions research and/or development, and project implementation. Establishes objectives for assigned projects, researches potential solutions, and makes recommendations that are consistent with the strategic direction of Elliot Health System. The Project Manager will interact with all levels and departments within Elliot Health System as a project management consultant as they plan and implement assigned projects. Responsibilities include development of project plans and associated project documents as is dictated by the project needs; charters, budget, change management plans, project design/implementation, information flow and processes, training and quality programs, and ongoing operational requirements.
  • KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Partners with the project owners to facilitate the development of business cases as part of the Information Technology Department project governance process.
    • Leads cross-functional teams to evaluate, plan, implement and manage assigned projects in support of the organization’s strategic objectives.
    • Coordinates tasks, schedule, scope, resources, communications, quality control, and budget management as appropriate for assigned projects.
    • Works with project sponsor and teams to develop project goals and objectives, define project scope, identify stakeholders and resources needed, and determine team member roles and responsibilities.
    • Manages team member assignments to ensure responsibilities are matched to maximize team member effectiveness.
    • Maintains professional project team environment and motivates team to maximize successful outcomes.
    • Develops formal and informal project plans and effectively manages project risks and issues through timely identification, mitigation and response plan development.
    • Ensures effective communication of project status to all levels of the organization as appropriate based on the project level.
    • Manages project expectations across the enterprise including all levels of stakeholders from executive sponsors to project team members and impacted departmental groups.
    • Develops and fosters strong relationships with project sponsors, owners and team members.
    • Partners with Information Technology Process Improvement staff to ensure an effective assessment of project scope and requirements to apply the appropriate resources to meet the identified needs of a project.
    • Manages 1-3 enterprise level Information Technology projects concurrently or 1-5 department level Information Technology projects concurrently, based on the size and complexity of the projects.
    • Ensures the effective closure of assigned projects and transition to appropriate operational owner responsibility, including the development of plans for ongoing quality reviews to evaluate outcomes.
    • Maintains knowledge of EHS strategic goals and objectives and ensures the project teams are informed on the project alignment with the objectives.
    • Maintains knowledge of the healthcare industry and project management methodologies.
  • REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
    • Proven ability to manage complex, enterprise, and department level projects to completion in a multi-disciplinary environment.
    • Excellent organizational, communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills required.
    • Interpersonal and organizational skills necessary to conduct project meetings, seminars and training with all levels of the organization.
    • Ability to manage multiple project teams in a dynamic and evolving environment as well as to function independently as need to ensure success.
  • EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/LICENSURE
    • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Hospital Administration, Information Technology or related field or equivalent related experience.
    • Experience: Minimum of three (3) years direct project management experience preferred. One (1) to three (3) years additional experience in a healthcare field preferred.
    • Certification/Licensure: Project Management Certification through PMI preferred, not required.
    • Software/Hardware: Proficiency with MS Office software as well as MS Project and Visio required. Experience with Enterprise Project and Portfolio Management systems and/or team collaboration systems preferred.
  • OTHER REQUIREMENTS
    • Schedule: Generally Monday through Friday, days. Occasional requirements to cover special events/staff requirements during hours outside those generally worked.
