To that end, we are hiring Head of Finance to help us achieve our goal of leveraging the power of robotics to benefit humanity. This role will supervise multiple areas: FP&A (manage and guide financial spending and analysis of projected expenses and growth), controlling (managing cash, oversees reporting, tax, and other accounting matters), and operational finance (timely closing, compliance and day-to-day internal financial processes). Additionally, they will manage all finance and accounting staff here in the US.

To be successful the role requires an extensive professional experience in both finance and accounting, and a mix of a strong analytical mindset, business process excellence and great people management skills. The Head of Finance will guide and provide appropriate business insight and financial execution to all aspects of SoftBank Robotics America’s business.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing our growing finance and accounting team.
  • Partnering with legal and HR to ensure the company will be compliant with upcoming regulatory requirements.
  • Preparing timely and detailed reports on financial performance on a quarterly and annual basis
  • Acting as the primary liaison between SBRA’s finance team and our partners in Japan, France and other regions.
  • Driving to create financial scheme and finding partners to enhance business
  • Driving and managing key finance areas including forecasting and planning, controlling, AP and expenses, AR and collections, and key vendor relationships in these areas.
  • Lead management reporting activities for the US, including KPI’s, dashboards, business trends and performance vs. plan/forecast. Develop, implement, and maintain an effective planning and analysis capability that will provide leadership with appropriate analytical tools to establish goals and measure performance of the company’s businesses.
  • Ensure policies and procedures are in compliance with professional standards, state and federal regulatory requirements.
  • Support quarterly budget process and monthly planning process for the US organization.
  • Establish and maintain internal controls to support the financial infrastructure. Continually develop, expand and improve finance/accounting procedures for all areas of operations.
  • Supervising month-end/year- end close process including account analysis, preparing ad-hoc reports, reconciling data, and performing analytical activities to ensure accurate financial.
  • Handle relationship with main business partner and Auditors.
  • Work closely with other departments in order to support all finance/controlling requests.
  • Implement and own system-oriented solutions to streamline day-to-day workload.

Requirements:
10+ years of finance and accounting experience at an operating company, startup preferred.

  • 5+ years experience managing a team
  • A bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • CPA required.
  • Hands-on experience in designing and implementing solutions and processes from the ground up to ensure financial efficiency.
  • Strong problem solving, data crunching, reporting and financial modeling skills. Ability to effectively articulate and communicate analysis and influence business partner’s decisions.
  • Proactive self-starter who is able to thrive in a fast growing and ambiguous environment.
  • Highly-detailed and process-oriented with the ability to identify improvements and drive changes.
  • Ability to multi-task and execute upon key deliverables under tight timelines.
  • Experience in working at an international company where Finance teams are located in different countries is a big plus.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (macros, pivots, lookups), SQL and/or VBA.
  • Experience in managing relationships with outsourced partner (accounting firm).
  • Comfortable with being hands-on, having end-to-end responsibilities in the respective finance/accounting areas, while working as a member of our senior leadership team.
