EMS Team Manager – Ambulance – EMS – INTEGRIS Grove

Position Summary:
Responsible within the scope of practice as defined in the Oklahoma State Department of Health, for direction of EMS service functions and activities during shift hours including appropriate staffing to meet the patient care needs. Adheres to National Patient Safety Goals as appropriate based on the level of patient contact this position requires.
Essential Functions:
The EMS Team Manager responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Utilizes established process to provide patient care, based on physical psycho/social, educational, safety and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients served in the assigned service area

  • Supervises, assigns, and adjusts personnel to meet patient needs and productivity guidelines

  • Participates in committees, work groups, and meetings as deemed necessary

  • Establishes and maintains effective communication and collaboration with other hospital departments and medical staff to resolve problems, and coordinate activities within assigned department

  • Responsible for day-to-day operations during shift, facilitation of transfers and fix run tickets from QA, Daily Maintenance
Accountability:
Reports to the assigned Supervisor, Manager, or Director.

Environmental Conditions:
Job conditions may require moderate exposure to hazardous risks, including potential for exposure to infections, communicable diseases, blood and body fluids, electrical equipment and chemicals. Potential for bodily injury related to job duties and/or incidents of workplace violence. The Team Leader may be exposed to constant interruptions, noise and disagreeable odors. Requirement to float to other nursing units may occur.

Qualifications:

  • 1 year of related work experience

  • Must be age 23, absent insurer approval

  • Must be able to pass a MVR (Motor Vehicle Records Check)

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Current Oklahoma Paramedic license and yearly thereafter, Emergency Medical Services Division

  • Current National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians Paramedic license and yearly thereafter

  • Current CPR Certification and yearly thereafter

  • Medical Director and states written approval of ability to perform on line and off line protocols for Emergency Medical Technicians

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 6 months of hire and current certification yearly thereafter

  • Pre-hospital Trauma Life Support preferred

  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 6 months of hire and current certification yearly thereafter

  • Emergency Vehicle Driver Training within 6 months of hire and current certification yearly thereafter

  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English (Verbal/Written)
