Our 120 bed Skilled Nursing Facility has been the trusted partner for those in need of care since its original founding in 1850. It is a non-profit, non-sectarian residence, dedicated to getting its residents a higher quality of life.
Our facility seeks a Full-time Director of Therapeutic Recreation and Volunteer Services with Nursing Home experience.
The primary purpose of this position is to plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operation of the Activity Department in accordance with current Federal, State and local regulations, and established policies and procedures. The Director is responsible for the orientation and training of volunteer workers and supervises their activities to ensure that an on-going program of activities is designed to meet the interests and the physical, mental and psycho-social well being of the residents. The individual needs of each resident are based on comprehensive assessments.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist, Occupational Therapist or must have a Masterâs degree in a related field with relevant experience
- Possess two (2) years of experience in a social or recreational program within the last 5 years, 1 of which was full time in a Resident activities program in a health care setting
- Presentation skills, computer proficient (Microsoft Suite) required
- Knowledge of software programs like Sigma a plus
- Must have desire to be part of a fast-paced environment
