Director of Product Development and Marketing

A well-established cosmetic and beauty packaging trading company in Asia with offices in Hong Kong, Taiwan, China, USA and Australia is looking for the talent of Director of Product Development and Marketing based in our Taiwan office.

In this role, you will supervise and manage both the Packaging and Project Development Team and Marketing Teams. You will lead the Packaging and Project Development team in the development products and ensure the highest standards in products and processes are attained, and manage the Marketing Team in the development and execution of marketing strategies, advertising and promotional materials to meet company objectives and targets.

As a Director of Product Development and Marketing, you will oversee the packaging and project development team throughout the development process ensuring the company processes, policies and standards are followed and providing support and guidance as needed, as well as identifying areas where the team can expand their skills. You will also communicate with and visit factories regularly to introduce projects and to identify opportunities. And meet regularly with internal departments to review projects, issues and new opportunities and keep up to date on regulatory requirements and restricted materials.

In addition, you will be responsible for directing the Marketing Team in the development and execution of marketing strategies, advertising and promotional activities, including but not limited to print and e-marketing, events, website and social media marketing. You will keep abreast of new and current cosmetic and skin products and technologies, ensuring the teams are up to date on the trends and advances. In addition, you will analyze business opportunities and direct the development of sales/marketing plans to maintain and grow the company brand awareness, conducting research of our key existing clients as well as targeted new clients.

Knowledge, skills and experience required:

• 10+ years’ experience in product development of plastic packaging and experience leading/managing a development team. Experience in cosmetic industry an advantage.
• Marketing experience in beauty industry preferred
• Degree or equivalent experience in merchandising and product development
• Strong leadership skills, initiative and reporting habits
• Strong problem solving, troubleshooting, analytical and negotiating skills. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
• Proven project management skills with demonstrated ability to push projects over the finish line with sound planning and persistent execution
• Understand how to align resources, seek the input of key constituents, and manage others to achieve desired results
• Open and collaborative style; must be comfortable working in an environment where ideas are shared and challenged
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills
• Mandatory Languages – Mandarin and English
• Computer literacy including MS Office, experience with MS Project an advantage
• Travel in Taiwan, Hong Kong and China required
