JOB BRIEF
The Director of HR will assist the VP of Human Resources in short and long term planning and management of the HR function and is heavily involved in executing HR initiatives. The HR Director will also provide support and direction to the Human Resources Team by collaborating with functional unit leads to develop and implement recruitment plans and professional development programs. In addition, this position will support the VP of Human Resources in developing organizational strategies, labor relations, staff engagement and overseas and ensures that systems are providing return on investments and utilized effectively.

JOB DUTIES

  • Work closely with the VP of HR in implementing, achieving and maintaining the company’s goals and objectives.
  • Implement annual objectives for the Human Resources Department.
  • Provide customized intervention or facilitation with groups on team effectiveness, roles and responsibilities, process improvement, change management, and meeting/workshop facilitation.
  • Serve as a coach to managers about best practices and guidance for resolving organizational issues.
  • Work collaboratively with departments/functional unit leads to deliver quality professional development and talent services to meet the unique development needs of the various disciplines.
  • Assist in the budget process as it relates to staffing, productivity, benefit costs, and employee/labor relations costs.
  • Represent Human Resources’ professional development and talent efforts to all levels of the organization.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the professional development and talent staff, utilizing a team-based approach.
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the Human Resources department to ensure professional development and talent initiatives are aligned and implemented effectively.
  • Integrate professional development and talent processes and practices with other key HR products, services, and key stakeholders.
  • Supervise and train professional development and talent staff, to include organizing, prioritizing, and ensuring successful outcomes.
  • Oversees HR Business Partners and acts as front like HR support to Corporate employee population.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • HR Certification desired
  • College degree in human resources, business, or a related area.
  • Minimum of ten years’ multi-unit experience in an exempt human resource position; retail or related environment strongly preferred.
  • Extensive experience in recruitment and professional development.
  • Advanced analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and diverse disciplines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites and other software, HRIS and authoring tools.
  • Skilled in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
  • Ability to foster a cooperative work environment and spirit of collaboration.
  • Strong communication skills; excellent presentation skills.
  • Broad knowledge of employment laws.
  • Skilled in verbal and written communications as well as in one-on-one and group interactions.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish required.
  • Frequent travel may be required.
