JOB RESPONSIBILITES:
- Creates/promotes a culture centered on building self directed lives with the people we support.
- Demonstrated effective administration of assigned units; complies with established administrative policies and duties.
- Displays principles of good management and applies these principles in daily work performance.
- Assures program staffing needs are met for all community homes and programs.
- Coordinate allotted work schedule and assigned duties; effectively performs on-call duties.
- Abides by established policies and procedures of the agency, County, and State; offers direction and supervision for compliance for Direct Support Staff and Program Specialists.
- Makes independent decisions regarding program operations within his/her authority.
- Directly supervises Program Specialists and mid-level managers for their county office.
- Acts as back-up to the Regional Director
- Fills-in as Regional Director in their absence.
- Evaluates and appropriately acts in emergency situations, assisted as needed and reports to the Regional Director.
- Notifies the Regional Director in an accurate and timely manner of unusual incidents, problems and changes in individual Person Centered Plans.
- Promotes a positive working relationship with all employees.
- Assists in the planning and development of the Person Centered Plan.
- Assures the individuals have comfortable, clean, orderly, and safe living environment.
- Assists in the planning and development of household budgets.
- Ensures all programs are always in compliance with their applicable licensing regulations.
- Coordinates and reviews the careful preparation with individualsââŹâ˘ records and ensures that they are kept accurate and up to date.
- Maintains statistics and prepares and submits as directed by the Regional Director.
- Provides input to the Regional Director to facilitate contacts with County, State, Day Programs, and Community Services.
- Ensures that programmatic and behavioral routines are followed as established; follows established procedures when making changes.
- Remains aware of behavioral and/or medical status of residents. Notifies the appropriate authorities.
- Participates in the training and evaluation of subordinates.
- Attend all individual related individual meetings.
- Attend weekly supervisory meetings.
- Attend all staff meetings.
- Conduct staff meetings to include meeting notes and the agenda.
- Participates in required in-service training and professional growth activities.
- Provides direct support as needed.
- Provides counseling and assistance to consumers as needed.
- Handles individual or personnel grievances and reports or refers them to the Human Resource Department.
- Ensures individuals right to privacy.
- Cooperate with parents, service agencies, and administration regarding programs and habilitative planning.
- Assists in establishing good public relations.
- Performs the duties and/or schedules or the Program Specialists during vacations or absences.
- Conducts weekly supervision meetings with the Program Specialists.
- Completes other duties as assigned by Person Directed Supports, Inc.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors Degree from an accredited College or University.
- Two years experience working directly with persons with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities.
- Valid Driver’s License
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This company provides home-based care services for individuals with developmental disabilities, some of whom have medical disabilities as well. The tasks may vary somewhat depending on the needs of the individual but in general involves home care, hygiene skills, cooking and cleaning skills, outdoor activities (not just doing the cooking, cleaning and helping with hygiene but teaching individuals how to perform these tasks themselves), going outside for shopping, walks and other fun activities. The employee also follows along with written goals of client (goals developed by coordinators). Some clients also need assistance with being mobile, including lifting and transferring. Lifting up to 50 pounds.
