Position Summary:
Director, Business Development will drive our sales efforts and extend our reach through expert discovery and exploration of new and untapped business opportunities and relationships. This person will have highly skilled at sales and effective relationship building. This person will inspire a team of like-minded professionals to deliver on goals and achieve our company vision.


Position Responsibilities:

Demand Generation – Identify trends, customer needs and be constantly developing a pool of prospective partners and clients in support of our ability to grow and advance our mission. Organize conferences and other events, generate ideas and other meaningful content to increase outreach in our target markets.
Prospect Management – Build-out, develop and manage both our existing pipeline and a pipeline of new business opportunities through organization and CRM tracking of high level sales-oriented activity.
Relationship Building – Leverage existing relationships and create new relationships with organizations, with an emphasis on their executives, to foster a high level of engagement.
Deal Advancement – Take a lead role in the development of proposals and presentations for new business materials to create and nurture business opportunities and partnerships.
Sales Forecasting – Properly manage an ongoing forecast for new revenue generation opportunities.

Growth and Performance – Ensure people, process and products are in place to deliver on revenue targets and that activity is consistently directed to the organizational mission, strategy, and goals.
Personal Development – Develop personal skills and capability through on-going training and education.
Leadership – Responsible for coaching, managing and motivating team members on a daily basis.


Daily and Monthly Responsibilities;

  • Maintain an active and full calendar of interaction with key decision makers and advance prospects and clients through a proprietary consultative sales framework/process to deliver mutually beneficial results.
  • Be highly organized and manage proposal response process, including detailed RFP requirements, content creation, and inputs from various sources.
  • Support deal structure and pricing with business value analysis. Negotiate prices for proactive bids and proposals.
  • Maintain and share professional knowledge through education, networking, events, and presentations

Skills & Experiences:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • 5 plus years of experience in a professional setting
  • Successful track record of exceeding sales goals
  • Experience in sales, marketing or related field.
  • Relationship management – Identify key stakeholders, establish strong working relationships and work to a plan.
  • People Oriented – We are highly focused on finding someone with the ability to lead and manage a conversation, to create emotional engagement, and earn the trust of others.
  • Prospecting – This person will excel at finding needs in the marketplace to keep the pipeline full of potential customers for new business. The ideal candidate enjoys researching industries, uncovering main friction points, and defining the ideal customer profile in support of growing new business.
  • Strategic planning – Proactively analyze emerging trends both inside and outside of client organizations, anticipate related organizational needs, and develop strategies for meeting them.
  • Team coordination – Sees value in building and supporting cross functional teams to support internal and external goals.
  • Communication skills – This person should be a master of written and verbal communication and will enjoy fluidly moving between communication opportunities with front line employees and C-suite executives with ease.
  • Analytical insight – Comfort with data analysis, forecasting, and budgeting in a sales and revenue generation context
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to travel
