What you’ll do:

As a Communications Senior Manager, you will lead our engagement/internal efforts and deliver innovative internal communications strategies that build pride with our people, position the firm as a thought leader, attract top talent, ensure consistent messaging, and position the business to win work.

  • Deliver innovative internal communications strategies to inform and engage our people and strengthen Deloitte’s reputation as an Employer of Choice
  • Drive employee engagement and business results through creative storytelling, change management campaigns, eminence building, and executive positioning
  • Collaborate with leadership to drive the overall internal communication objectives and programs designed to deliver the Deloitte Talent experience e.g. lifecycle events
  • Manage applications/nominations for employer of choice, workplace and other Talent-related awards and rankings, as well as amplification of wins both internally and externally
  • Develop and manage an editorial calendar to organize Talent communications
  • Serve as key contact and advisor for CEO and FSS comms team in addition to Recruitment Brand and Alum teams – ensure alignment of messaging in all relevant channels
  • Develop communication plan for signature Engagement events, including the annual Talent Survey and others
  • Investigate, negotiate, and support conference sponsorship and presenter opportunities, speaking engagements and employee participation
  • Work closely with Talent COO to build community among team, provide strategic insights and counsel, and look for opportunities as Deloitte spokesperson (working closely with Talent PR)
  • Help prepare Talent COO to represent the Firm through external channels
  • Employ strong project management skills and juggle multiple tasks simultaneously, consistently delivering high quality results
  • Manage and work with more junior members of the team, to ensure successful results, and help them develop the skills necessary to reach the next level in their career

  • Ability to work in a matrixed organization with a virtual team, experience in large corporate setting and/or professional services a plus

  • Demonstrated proficiency in facilitating, delegating and motivating cross functional groups or activities
  • Executive presence, professional client service manner, demonstrated ability to take initiative and interact with all levels of management and adapt to business needs
  • Interpersonal, verbal and presentation skills, including ability to interact with and coach senior leaders and highly intellectual thinkers
  • Persuasive skills and able to gain consensus through influence
  • Ability to build and lead a team, both virtually and in person
  • Negotiation and problem-solving skills; flexibility and adaptability
  • Ability to think both strategically and tactically
  • Collaborative working style to build relationships, including collaborating with multiple business marketing teams, technology teams, sales, and vendors

  • Proven success in developing and executing external communications strategy and communications plans for a large business, preferably in professional services
  • Experience in corporate communications and working closely with and writing for senior executives


The team

Deloitte’s Communications team provides value to the U.S. Firms by delivering innovative communications strategies and approaches for internal and external audiences. We build and protect our brand, and help our leaders influence positive behaviors, drive change, reinforce successes, and promote a strong sense of community through coordinated, consistent messaging. From concept to execution, we help our leaders reach their audience and achieve a consistent standard of excellence using proven communication methodologies. This role reports to the Talent Communications leader.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Communications professional with a minimum of 12+ years relevant experience
  • A Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Communications, English, Public Relations or Journalism
  • Proven success in developing and executing external communications strategy and communications plans for a large business, preferably in professional services
  • Ability to successfully engage and lead team members, providing effective guidance, coaching and capability development, maintaining close understanding of all team activities, ensuring high quality for all activities/deliverables, and implementing course corrections when needed
  • Experience in measuring the effectiveness of communication strategies
  • High-level proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Outlook and Word. Knowledgeable in all aspects of Microsoft Office and ancillary programs
  • Experience in Human Capital or Talent is a plus
