Summary
The Senior Vice President, Business Development (SVP, BD) leads Precision BioSciences’ business development efforts. The SVP, BD develops and leads licensing strategy, sources and evaluates partnership opportunities, coordinates cross-functional evaluation and diligence teams, and negotiates partnership agreements.

  • Develops and leads business development strategy ensuring alignment with corporate strategy and goals
  • Lead efforts to identify and evaluate business development opportunities, including licenses, partnerships and collaborations
  • Lead structuring, negotiating and closing of agreements and licenses
  • Coordinate stakeholders across the company and externally to understand and support key business development needs, identifying gaps in current capabilities and augmenting strengths
  • Cultivate and leverage business development relationships with other biopharma companies
  • Support long-range planning with business case analyses
  • Represent Precision BioSciences at industry conferences and meetings
  • Lead and manage the business development team
Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform this job successfully.
  • MBA or equivalent; 15+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • A degree in a life sciences field is preferred
  • Experience at a life sciences company is required
  • Proven track record of negotiating and closing business agreements
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, proven ability to communicate with diverse audiences, internal and external
  • Superior interpersonal skills, with emphasis on relationship building
Travel Requirements
  • The SVP, Business Development will be expected to travel when needed, both domestically and internationally, up to 50%.
Location
  • This is an office-based position located at the main headquarters in downtown Durham, NC.
