A Regional Director of Restaurants is a leader of the organization â responsible for being an integral driver of Restaurant excellence, promoting total customer satisfaction and a high level of employee morale by overseeing all restaurant initiatives of the region with the bottom-line intent of business growth.
Restaurant Strategy & Administration
- Drives restaurant teams to define and execute on clear strategies and priorities to deliver consistently excellent restaurant experiences
- Drives efficient Restaurant collaborations with Store General Manager and Corporate Food Service
- Maintains regular contact with assigned stores to stay aware of concerns and address potential issues
- Provides oversight for Associate awareness of Health and Safety standards within the workplace
- Identifies opportunities / provides oversight for special events and promotions
- Drives teams to analyze inventory amounts, batch invoices, month-end forecasts, and preliminary profit and loss reports, all while aligning results with greater organizational strategy
- Analyzes market research and the benchmarking of restaurants to facilitate alignment with business strategy
- Oversees the restaurant functionality of regional stores (e.g., invoicing, budgeting, structure, etc.)
People Development
- Oversees enforcing of NMG policies and procedures by keeping organization up-to-date with evolving standards
- Oversees organization-wide partnering with Human Resources on matters relevant to Associates (e.g., training, payroll, benefits)
- Establishes organization-wide expectations on restaurant Associate behavior
- Defines senior leadership team responsibilities
Communications
- Communicates daily with key partners regarding business needs, such as scheduling, profit and loss reports, upcoming events, and other employee issues
- Acts as Restaurants liaison, sharing relevant news concerning restaurant to other organizational leads
Delivers difficult and / or complex messages across respective region
- Initiates and oversees cross-functional collaborations with key partners
- Exercises a high degree of confidentiality and discretion, determining
necessary levels of inclusion on sensitive business information
Qualifications
Qualifications
- 10+ years of relevant experience
- 4-year degree preferred
- Proven track record achieving business results across multiple businesses
- History of leading, motivating, and coaching teams to achieve objectives
- Advanced financial acumen and analytical skills, including restaurant profit and loss analysis experience
- Previous experience navigating complex business problems, collaborating with leads across corporate functions, presenting at the executive level, working with corporate business partners, and leading cross-functional large-scale initiatives
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to effectively and tactfully advise, counsel, coach, resolve conflict, and negotiate within all levels of an organization
- Customer-focused with sound judgment, excellent financial and strategic skills, and restaurant profit and loss analysis experience
- “Win together” mentality
- Experience in budget oversight and census planning
- Basic proficiency with MS Office Product Suite, advanced proficiency preferred
- Role requires standing, bending, climbing stairs, and lifting and carrying 35 pounds
- Associates must be willing to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, which will include evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Travel may be required, up to 25%
