Our client, a growing logistics company, is seeking a Pricing Manager to join their company and strategically plan and negotiate carrier and vendor agreements.
Responsibilities include:
Respond to spot internal and external shipment rate requests and establish and maintain an internal SOP that sets the format and turnaround/response time for quotes/rate requests.
Regularly report on trade updates and provide a weekly update during the Monday morning meeting. Set standards for which market and MOT trends to report on. Keep up to date with whatâs going on in the markets and suggest/implement changes and improvements that ensure company’s ongoing competitiveness.
Develop and maintain an internal database to track the outcome of rate quotations and make that data available to the Sales Team and Management. This would at a minimum consist of a prospectâs name, MOT, number of quotes, status (won or lost), and dollar amount of the quote provided. These numbers would be reported on during the Monday sales meeting.
Participate in the ongoing design and maintenance of standards for communications (and related processes) with internal and external customers (quotes, quote requests, tariffs etc.), in coordination with external sales to include adding as much automation and integration between standard forms and the rate database.
Create SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), service level standards, and contribute to the development of “user friendly tools” to enable wide access by end users to the centralized rate database.
