Global Technology Manager Performance Profile
Lubrizol is currently hiring a Global Technology Manager within our Product Management Technology Group (PMTG) at our Global headquarters in Wickliffe Ohio. Reporting to the Director of Global Technology you will be accountable for ensuring that the Fuel Products Technology Team is developing and deploying products and claims that provide sustainable value for Lubrizol and our customers. You will also cultivate innovation and develop people by creating a transparent and collaborative work environment that explores value-added ideas from across the entire enterprise.
Performance Objectives
- Learn the Business: As a new employee coming into Lubrizol you will gain an in-depth learning of Lubrizol systems and technologies. One of your key objectives will be understanding our chemistries, gain a familiarity with Lubrizol products, learn about the group that you will be supporting, while integrating yourself with the broader Product Management Technology Group beyond the fuels business.
- Prioritizing Projects: You play an important role in growing in the gasoline fuel additives business, supporting the launch of gasoline product lines, attacking new pieces of business, develop relationships with key accounts to help drive growth, and partner directly with OEM’s.
- Management of the Technology Team: The fuels technology team is a creative group. You will be responsible for the development and deployment of 12 direct reports based in North America, Europe and Asia in order to deliver on the growth agenda.
- People Development: In this role up to 30% of your time will include succession planning and development of your direct reports. You will look for opportunities to increase technical expertise and define set deliverables for the group.
- Internal and External Customer Support: Internal key customers include The Global Business Manager, Global General Manager, Product Managers, Project Managers, Operations, Research & Development and peers.
- Safety: You will ensure that safety is foremost in the minds of the team, that we adhere to our ethical standards and the cultural beliefs are manifest in the actions of both yourself as the leader and the team.
- Ensure Compliance: With both product development and commercialization best practices.
Experience Required
- BSc Chemist, Chemical or Mechanical Engineer minimum. Masters or PhD preferred.
- 10+ years of combined leadership and technical experience, preferably within the lubricant industry or a related industry.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically.
- Proven commercial acumen.
- Proven communication skills both written and verbal.
- Other Experiences: Lubricant or related chemical industry preferred.
