The NIKE, Inc. Communications team develops, establishes and strengthens authentic connections with diverse audiences through the lens of innovation and sport. The Global Category Communications Manager, Women’s position will work collaboratively and at the direction of the Sr. Director, WBN. The team will be responsible to create and drive communication efforts supporting Nike Women’s by building and developing long-term global strategies to support strategic business and brand objectives.

A successful candidate must think innovatively with the ability to expand the boundaries of traditional communication. This position will collaborate with their manager, peers and stakeholders to drive a powerful narrative. Additionally, this role will own delivery of strong seasonal (fall/holiday) power stories.

This role will be responsible for the following:

  • Drive key deliverables that creates distinction and enhances the brand’s reputation in partnership with the business
  • Define a strong narrative to support the Women’s business including developing and defining brand positioning and messaging
  • Drive innovation through an integrated global strategy in partnership with key internal stakeholders, including creating unique experiences and building new storytelling platforms that help Nike reach new audiences, expanding brand awareness while growing the Women’s business.
  • Collaborate with other categories to lead, redefine, cultivate and develop expressions of sport and style for our female consumer that permeate culture in new and inventive ways.
  • Leverage expertise to influence strategic messaging, positioning, brand building and issues management of Nike Women’s.

WHAT YOU BRING TO NIKE
  • 5+ years professional experience in high profile corporate communications or public relations roles supporting global brand organizations.
  • Proven ability to influence conversations and bring stakeholders together around a common strategic direction.
  • Proven ability to lead and work as a part of a team with other internal stakeholders
  • Have excellent news judgment as well as very strong writing and communications skills
  • including the ability to work with and strategically plan across global markets.
  • Management skills including strategic planning, budgeting and creative solutions.
  • Have a passion for sports and the prospect of delivering stories from all over the world to people all over the world.
  • Be adept at corporate reputation, media issues management
  • Be a self-starter who has experience coming up with new approaches to storytelling and is eager to try new things
  • Experience balancing creative storytelling and experiences against budget realities
  • Understanding of media landscape and the evolution of media in key global cities.
