Carbon Lighthouse is looking for an experienced, self-motivated Facilities Operations Manager to join our People Operations team. Growth is the key driver of our ability to produce meaningful impact in reducing carbon emissions and putting an end to climate change. In parallel with company growth, your role will be to help us scale and iterate on our existing office growth plan. We currently have 4 offices, located in San Francisco, New York, Los Angeles and Honolulu and we expect to open at least 2 new offices in 2020.

You will be responsible for ensuring our physical spaces are sufficient to allow for uninterrupted productivity of all employees. This will include adequate space, IT infrastructure, administration,and any other facility variables are ideal to set employees up to be highly productive. You’ll be expected to play a critical role in developing and refining our office growth and IT strategies, partnering closely with your team and employees in all of our offices.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the operations of all of our offices and IT
  • Supervise and manage the team responsible for administration, facilities, and IT, which includes People Operations Coordinators and an IT Manager
  • Ensure that team has bandwidth to address requests and concerns from the company in a timely and effective manner.
  • Administer procurement and fiscal management activities associated with building maintenance
  • Troubleshoot and responds to after-hour facility issues as needed
  • Oversee needed repairs and maintenance of facilities
  • Monitor and oversee the work of external contractors
  • Manage the coordination of company-wide events, including Holiday Party, company retreat, and other team-building activities.
  • Assist in ensuring that facilities meet code compliance and coordinate with officials for any needed government inspections.
  • Work closely with VP of People Operations to ensure company growth plans match office capacity. Prompt and drive office searches in all geographies as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience as a people manager
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and remain organized with competing deadlines

  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work well with others
  • Manage relationships with external support vendors as needed.

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Experience in Facilities Management
  • BA in facilities management, administration, or a related field
  • Growth mindset with constant curiosity for learning & problem solving
  • Experience in high-growth, start-up environments
