We are currently seeking a Director, Innovation to be located in Stamford, CT and report to the VP of Sales, Customer Experience and Innovation. The Director of Innovation is responsible for filling the innovation funnel and also leading a team through an innovation process for commercialization of new products and services. The Director ensures the timely and accurate completion of multiple strategic initiatives and projects occurring simultaneously.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Lead long term idea generation to fill 3-5 year pipeline in line with Innovation Strategies, platforms & concepts
  • Develop the vision and strategy, aligning to the 2020 Business Plan
  • Lead and influence innovation to develop and launch short and long term new product initiatives.
  • Establish partnerships that expands our technical capabilities and to escalate resource needs to minimize resource shortages whether internal or external
  • Evaluate disruptive go-to-market products for further testing and feasibility analysis
  • Develop strong, collaborative relationships with cross-functional teams (Marketing, Operations, Sales, Research & Development) to ensure collaboration and alignment of direction at all stages of development and launch
  • Develop and manage new product and program handoffs (process and materials) to ensure a smooth transition of new product launch activities throughout the development process
  • Partner with global colleagues to assess global offerings (existing and new) to determine potential introduction and expansion to the U.S. market.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop disruptive innovation team

Qualifications


Key qualifications include:
  • 10+ years in FMCG with commercial track record Bachelor’s Degree Required (Preferred in Management or Business)
  • Strong abilities in translating consumer insights into marketable concepts and bringing these to market.
  • Highly collaborative & able to gain buy-in to ideas.
  • Balanced perspective on business needs and constraints.
  • Comfort with ambiguity, while remaining results oriented.
  • Design and Strategic thinking and Planning.
  • Passion for Innovation.
  • Credibility gained from commercial experience and P&L ownership.
  • Solid leadership skills with confidence to engage at all levels.
