We’re looking for a Head of Security to join our team and strategically influence and define how we protect and secure Glassdoor and our members. This role is located in San Francisco HQ and will report directly to our CIO.

Responsibilities

• Set the vision and direction for the team and lead execution of a multi-year roadmap of security initiatives, including Network, Endpoint, Cloud, Product, and Application Security.
• Foster a culture of security by design through tight partnerships across our business.
• Cultivate a deep breadth of team leadership and technical talent to deliver results and support future growth and coach the team to their full potential.
• Lead the cross-functional team responsible for researching, developing, implementing, and supporting company-wide security capabilities.
• Partner with product designers, engineers, and executives to ensure Glassdoor’s new products and features are built securely and ensure that every product is designed with security in mind
• Keep tabs on attacker behavior and changes in the threat landscape, and deploy appropriate prevention, detection, and response capabilities on a global scale.
• Assess and test Glassdoor’s capability to detect and respond to attacks

Minimum Qualifications

• 15+ years of meaningful technical experience, including hands-on technical management, experience designing and leading information security teams that punch above their weight, and proven ability to contribute at both strategic and operational levels
• Track record of building and growing diverse teams, and putting the appropriate processes and infrastructure in place to drive growth within a successful SaaS company.
• Ability to attract, develop, and retain top talent and anticipate the needs of the business & scale team to stay ahead of the threats.
• Strategic thinker – able to operate as a senior leader and influence the business and company strategy. Proven ability to formulate a high-level strategy, then convert into a tactical plan and execute on that plan.
• In-depth experience in Application Security including building a secure application development program
• Familiarity with control frameworks such as ISO 27001/2, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, and Center for Internet Security Controls for Effective Cyber Defense
• Capacity to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, fast-growing environment
• Masterful at applying security principles to cloud-based settings (AWS, GCP/Kubernetes)
