Develop standard and custom power electronics assemblies for the electrification of the transportation market in a fast-paced, startup environment. Work with global automotive OEMs developing next generation electric vehicle components, such as on-board chargers, DC-DC converter and traction inverters.
Position: Automotive Program Manager
Roles and Responsibilities
- Primary customer interface responsible for ensuring customer product requirements are delineated and documented in engineering specifications
- Create, manage and maintain customer timelines working with engineering personnel assigned to teams to ensure alignment and timeliness for all project deliverables
- Proactively coordinate engineering activities between internal engineering resources and customer engineering resources for design reviews, meetings, updates, etc.
- Coordinate the scheduling of materials with the corporate procurement team to ensure product deliverables and schedules are met in accordance with contractual obligations.
- Maintain engineering and all other resource time spent on tasks within Microsoft Project with costs for cost accounting purposes.
- Identify scope changes that impact project deliverables, costs or timeline and work with customers to properly manage expectations and change processes.
- Maintain expenses associated with projects to ensure those expenses are accounted for and within the scope of a project.
- Manage customer and internal expectations with regards to timelines, product deliverables and costs.
- Facilitate and maintain DFMEA, PFMEA, Reliability/Confidence and any other automotive quality standards dictated by the customer.
- Use your understanding of the automotive development processes to guide the team through development, proof of concept, DV, PV and SOP, including APQP and PPAP processes.
Experience
- 5 years minimum of automotive program management experience with a proven track record of delivering automotive products
- PMI/PMP certification
Software and Tools Proficiency
- Microsoft Project
- DFMEA tools such as XFMEA a plus
- Knowledge of Trello a plus
Education
BSEE, BSME with 5 years relevant experience
