Full Job Description
What You Will Do:
With the VP of Risk Management guidance, this position is responsible for implementation and oversight of SSFCU’s Vendor Management & NCUA Security Management programs. Ensures business partners understand key risks affecting their respective operations by communicating and managing respective Operational Risks. Develop and maintain a centralized tool that reflects various relevant metrics affecting the safety and soundness of the credit union, specifically focused on vendor oversight. Provides recommendations and input to Senior and Executive Management during the development and implementation of Vendor Management solutions and methodologies in accordance with Credit Union’s Strategic Plan and Statements of Direction. Directs staff and initiatives that support vendor management programs, to include governance support, risk oversight, vendor oversight development, identification, quantification, and aggregation of key and emerging risks and/or operational risks and controls focused on vendor oversight. Provides counsel to business unit managers on vendor management issues and supports the evaluation of new product strategies on their impact to SSFCU’s risk profile relative to vendor oversight and captures key sources of relevant risk information specific to their lines of business. Accountable for the development, implementation, and oversight of vendor management frameworks. Formulates vendor and security management policies, procedures and standards in conjunction with senior management and risk management committees. Educates vendor management best practices and may work with other risk functions in the development and implementation of risk controls. Assists in the early identification of risk trends by establishing and monitoring key performance and risk indicators. Understands and monitors the evolving nature of risks affecting the financial services industry, and the appropriate methods and tools to centrally monitor those risks. Completes any other job related duties needed to help drive to our Vision, fulfill our Purpose, and abide by our Organization’s Values.
What We Require:
Bachelor degree in Business Administration or equivalent education and/or experience. A minimum of seven (7) years of financial services and/or banking industry experience. Procurement experience can be substituted for some financial services experience. Working knowledge of key financial ratios. Working knowledge of regulatory and administrative law.
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
A minimum of four (4) years of procurement or vendor management with exposure to a CFPB regulated financial organization. Graduate degree in Law, Business Administration, or Finance. Direct experience of SSFCU financial products and services. Knowledge of current federal, state and NCUA regulations applicable to the credit union environment.
