Planned Parenthood Keystone (PPKey) serves 37 counties in Pennsylvania, home to over half of Pennsylvania residents. We operate 9 medical centers that serve over 22,000 patients annually. Full-time, exempt position based in Warminster, PA. As a member of the leadership team and reporting to the President/CEO, the Vice President of Development is responsible for the creation of strategy and program delivery for the affiliate’s fundraising and development activities. The position is also responsible for the oversight of the affiliate’s marketing and communications efforts.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Provides strategic thinking, planning, and leadership to promote, grow, and support fundraising and other development functions
  • Leads and manages all fundraising activities; including, major gifts, planned giving, special events, capital campaigns, endowments, and other fundraising strategies needed to support the goals of the strategic plan
  • Develop, administer, and evaluate annual, capital, short and long range fundraising goals, budgets and calendars, to support the affiliate’s program and services
  • Builds and maintains relationships with grant-making organizations, major donors and community stakeholders to secure funding for affiliate’s services.
  • Collaborate with the Board, executive management, and other staff to identify funding needs.
  • Work collaboratively with the Board of Directors, and the Board Development Committee, to encourage board giving and board participation in solicitation for the annual fund, endowment, capital and other campaigns
  • Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate Philanthropy Officers, Associate Director of Special Events, Development Manager, Development Operations Manager, and the Administrative Coordinator, including administering 12-month written performance evaluations; as well as creating and overseeing staff work plans
  • Manage the development, budgets, timelines, and maintenance of all print and electronic marketing and communications initiatives including, but not limited to, newsletters, brochures, and digital assets
  • Collaborate with outside agencies to oversee the production of digital marketing efforts for patient recruitment
  • Develop and implement media relations activities, as appropriate. Manage all affiliate media related requests
  • Supervise budgets and timelines for development, communications and marketing initiatives
  • Work with all levels of staff and volunteers to identify opportunities and implement promotional programs, which create a greater public understanding of the services of the affiliate
  • Serve as an internal marketing and communications resources for staff and volunteers as needed
  • Maintain awareness and analysis of trends in the community, local economy, and within the industry to generate long and short-range goals for fundraising and communications/marketing efforts.
  • Participate in the quality/risk management process, monthly accounting reconciliation, regulatory agency compliance, HR policies, and workplace safety policies
  • Ensure a culture that embraces diversity, equity, and inclusion of all persons

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of ten years’ experience in non-profit fundraising, including marketing/communications, event planning and senior management participation
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication, verbal & written, skills that enable work in a collaborative and multi-faceted team environment
  • Previous experience of management / business practices and principles, including budgeting
  • Ability to mentor individuals and lead a team
  • Strategic thinking; including, strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong commitment to the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Code of Ethics.
  • Computer literacy, including competency in Microsoft Office, email, Internet, and other appropriate software
  • Strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Ability to analyze and interpret concrete and abstract data, business and professional journals, technical procedures, financial reports, and applicable government laws and regulations
  • Ability to write clear, persuasive, and informative reports, correspondence, and procedural instructions
  • Ability to speak effectively to groups of employees, high-level volunteers, board members and the general public
  • Ability to organize, multi-task and effectively function in a fast-paced environment to set and achieve short and long term goals
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including weekends, early morning, and/or evening hours
  • Ability to work independently under minimal supervision
  • Ability and willingness to travel. Reliable means of transportation
