The Vice President of Contracted Operations serves as a member of the senior management team and has bottom line accountability for performance of the contracted and affiliated network operations across assigned market as well as a dotted-line, matrix management coordination responsibility to other Greater Texas and Enterprise Management staff located within various markets – including each market’s dyad leadership as well as corporate departments such as Quality, DataRAP, Clinical Operations, ELT and the medical group. The Vice President of Contracted Operations will be responsible for the supervision, coordination and management of all contracted & affiliated network support activities within assigned market. The responsibilities of this position demand a wide range of capabilities including: strategic planning and analysis skills; understanding of managed care; management breadth to direct and motivate; highly developed communication skills; and the ability to develop clear action plans and drive process, given often ambiguous issues with numerous interdependencies. This individual may have direct and indirect reports in multiple markets, serves as a member of the senior management team and has overall accountability for providing leadership, strategic direction and support to all aspects of network operations, to include: establishes and maintains effective professional relationships with physicians, hospital partners, staff, patients and the public. Formulates and administers
policies and procedures, participates in strategic planning and business development activities and assists in the professional development of the contracted operations management team.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Recommends, develops and assists in the strategic long-range planning process as it relates to contracted and affiliated networks in support of the market and enterprise strategic mission, philosophy and goals
  • Evaluates and makes recommendations for business development and expansion opportunities within assigned territories
  • Oversees the implementation of all expansion projects within assigned territories
  • Provides leadership and mentoring to management staff in establishing department objectives related to staffing, policies and procedures
  • Develops and governs the annual budget for the contracted operations area and implements plans to achieve budgetary goals
  • Monitors patient satisfaction and implements plans and programs to continually enhance services provided
  • Ensures all operational services meet regulatory and quality standards
  • Maintains professional affiliations and enhances professional growth and development to remain current in the changing healthcare trends as related to management of contracted operations
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration or related field required. (4 additional years of comparable work experience beyond the required years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a bachelor’ s degree)
  • 10+ more years of experience with increasing management responsibility within contracted operations
  • A strong understanding of clinic financials with the ability to analyze operations and continually implement efficient operational processes
  • Strong business acumen and proven strategic leadership skills
  • Approximately 20% travel required within assigned market and to corporate office for meetings

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration or related field
