Arc Herkimer is looking for energetic and motivated staff. We currently have a Technology Services Director position open. Technology Services Director’s basic function under the direction of the Executive Vice President of Business Operations/CFO and in coordination with and response to programs and departments, all Arc Herkimer information technology development (design, planning and implementation for networks, hardware and software), operation and customer service (problem solving, consultation and training).

Duties include, but not limited to:

• Coordinate with and advise Vice Presidents and department directors to identify their information technology requirements and to make recommendations for improved effectiveness and efficiency.
• Manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of all infrastructure technologies.
• Develop, implement and update the Arc Herkimer Information Technology Plan.
• Ensure timely delivery of complex, high priority, high value projects/initiatives on time and on budget.
• Manage projects to move agency programs from paper based systems to database platforms.
• Satisfy requests for advice and assistance relative to information technology.
• Coordinate/resolve operational problems that involve multiple parties, e.g. commercial carriers, Internet provider organizations, etc.
• Maintain general awareness of information technology developments that might enhance Arc Herkimer’s capability to provide effective, efficient service. Research, evaluate, and recommend changes and improvements to existing infrastructure systems.
• Acquire network, hardware and software capabilities on behalf of programs and departments.
• Develop, track, and control the technical services annual operating and capital budgets for purchasing and operations.
• Provide network administration services.
• Provide supervision and leadership and performance management to assigned staff.
• Ensure that the necessary and appropriate HIPAA security policies are developed and implemented to safeguard the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of electronic protected health information (EPHI) within the HIPAA covered components.
• Ensure that the necessary infrastructure of personnel, procedures, and systems is in place through monitoring, compliance, and providing a mechanism for incident reporting and violations.
• Act as a single point of contact for all issues related to HIPAA security.
• Act as agency security officer.

Position requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline required. Five years, hands-on experience with hardware installation and software evaluation/installation. Network Administrator certification preferred. Experience with current Microsoft Office products. Agency approvable Driver’s license and own transportation required.
