The Senior Project Manager owns project execution within AAA while developing project management talent. This Project Manager is focused on scope, time and cost of project delivery. This person plans, drives and monitors new project introduction efforts; on both internal & external member facing projects. This role develops detailed project plans and manages all processes throughout the project lifecycle including analysis, planning, resource allocation, progress tracking, monitoring change control process, implementation, testing, documentation, training, and on-time delivery.

AAA Project Managers work across multiple disciplines and business lines, and must be able to understand their clients’ businesses and build credibility quickly. Typical project areas include: implementing new technology, process or system improvements; building new business lines, vendor selection, product development, and launch.

The individual in this role must be able to deftly apply skills and methodology to manage others, proactively mitigate risks, resolve issues, escalate when appropriate, and overall drive project to completion.

Essential Functions

Core Project Execution. Deliver critical NCNU projects with focused prioritization discipline and planning, on time, on budget to meet business goals.

Plan, schedule, manage and coordinate all aspects of the project life cycle; Analysis / Design, Build, Test, Implement, Training / Change Management.

Provide project leadership, anticipate bottlenecks, mitigate project risks and balance the business needs versus technical constraints.

Has authority to prioritize project tasks based on capacity, due dates & critical path.

Effectively identify and resolve any issues throughout project life cycle. A solutions-oriented mindset is critical to have in order to be successful in this role.

Promotes, utilizes, and contributes to knowledge transfer discussions before, during and after project completion.

Provide consistent and comprehensive status updates; reporting schedule, cost, scope, work load, and project team performance.

Develop PMO Team Capabilities. Mentor and guidance for junior level Project Management Team Members and build PMO team talent skills thru tools, methodology and resources.

Drive Strategic Alignment. Collaborate with project sponsors and business partners to provide thought leadership and guidance on defining business cases, key benefits, options, and recommendations.

Methodology and Improvement. Execute projects using standard NCNU methodology for defining, tracking, communicating and delivering measurable business benefits. Improve methodology and tools over time.

Required Knowledge, Skill or Ability

Strong problem solving skills: Identifies and analyzes problems; distinguishes between relevant and irrelevant information to make logical decisions; provides solutions to individual and organizational problems

Strong leadership skills, including a history of increasing leadership responsibility and career growth in process improvement

Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with audiences of all levels, including executive leadership

Ability to develop a change leadership strategy based on situational awareness of changes and the groups impacted

Ability to identify potential people-side risks and anticipated points of resistance, and develop specific plans to mitigate or address concerns

Excellent organizational, consulting and project management skills

Adaptable self-starter who is skilled at creating structure in ambiguous environments

Excellent presentation skills

Strong logical and analytical problem-solving skills; rigorous approach to project management to deliver enterprise-level projects

Basic knowledge of G-Suite and MS Office applications

Education/Experience

Bachelor’s degree in related area or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

5+ years of experience leading projects in a consulting firm / environment; must have experience leading full project life-cycle, consisting of 5 or more people, or projects over 10,000 man hours or $500,000 in budget (Required)

3 – 5 years of experience mentoring and/or teaching others to use process, organization, change, and/or learning improvement methodologies (Preferred)

3 – 5 years of experience Identifying resistance and performance gaps, and work to develop and implement corrective actions (Preferred)
