Energy Storage and Optimization division of Wärtsilä, Headquartered in Herndon, Virginia, is the leading provider of energy control software platform and energy storage systems. Our mission is to advance renewable energy industry using computing technologies.

We are seeking a Software Project Manager in the Washington, DC metropolitan area to join our GEMS Solutions team that builds and delivers effective and efficient software solutions built on top of GEMS platform.

Job Description

  • Act as Project Manager coordinating multiple customer-facing, commercial projects and internal, product development projects.
  • Monitoring progress, managing project-related reports and other necessary documentation.
  • Coordinate among project stakeholders, both internal teams and external partners.
  • Report and escalate to management as needed.
  • Work with SCRUM teams and run sprint planning meetings.
  • Contribute to company vision and participate in projects planning and execution.

Qualifications

  • Deep expertise in software project management (PMP certification is a plus).
  • Deep expertise in Jira and Jira administration including workflow, user, portfolio and project management and Jira reports. Expert-level knowledge in other agile development tools including Confluence, Slack and Git.
  • Expertise in SCRUM and KANBAN Agile methodologies (certification is a plus). Proven-record in organizing agile software development teams.
  • Software coding experience.
  • Passionate about process & project management and success of projects.
  • Ability in managing and tracking multiple projects simultaneously is a must.
  • Attention to details. Solid communication skills – fluent in English: written and spoken.

Nice to have

  • Experience in agile software development methodologies, process, and tools.
  • Experience with industrial automation systems.
