What We Need You to Know: You will be responsible for the leadership of all Transamerica corporate and subsidiary social media channels. This role is mainly a strategic thinking and planning role, primarily focused on keeping our social media programs well aligned to business goals. This role will also manage multiple team members and has some team mentoring and management responsibilities. This role will report up to the VP of Brand and Digital and is part of the larger Digital and Brand team.
Job Description


Responsibilities:

  • Oversee adoption of brand principles in social media campaign planning and execution and alignment with busiess objectives
  • Enable Social Media Managers’ efforts of innovation and program expansion to reach additional business goals.
  • Support the integration between in-house team and social media agency to create clear expectations and a successful working relationship
  • Support the roll-out of new processes and initiatives as related to social media programs (ie: influencer, advocacy, social care etc.)
  • Exemplify data -driven decision making across all teams and brands managed by the social media team.
  • Ongoing education of stakeholders about the impact and benefits of social media on their workload and shared business goals.
  • Advocate for the Social Media team across multiple internal and external stakeholders, including marketing, analytics, customer service, recruitment, HR, legal, compliance, distribution, product and support.
  • Evangelize annual roadmap for new initiatives, projects and campaigns to further our business goals and objectives for executive buy-in.
  • Seek out opportunities for social media collaboration and problem solving across the organization.
  • Conflict resolution across multiple departments to enable innovation and progress with an ever-changing landscape of social media in a regulated industry
  • Enable the team in their continued learning and support them throughout their personal development plan
  • Support the social media team through mentorship and prioritization of projects to achieve highest impact for the business


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising or related field.
  • 10-12 years of social media or related marketing experience.
  • Thorough understanding of the social media landscape, including channels, best practices and audiences and publishing tools (Sprinklr, Hootsuite etc.)
  • Communication and interpersonal skills for extensive interaction with internal and external stakeholders both on a technical and non-technical level.
  • Leadership skills, strategic thinker, self-starter and decision-maker to drive results
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to uncover need and recommend alternative technical and business approaches
