Major Duties/Responsibilities

  • Facilitates all the scrum/agile team’s meetings and ceremonies depending on the framework used (SAFe, Scrum, Kanban).
  • Acts as servant leader to remove roadblocks, many of which may be beyond the team’s authority or will require support from other teams.
  • Must be willing and able to hold the team accountable to its sprint commitments, vision and values.
  • Ensures the team understands scrum theory, practices, rules and values and reinforces these regularly.
  • Supports and enforces the rules of the scrum process and other rules that the team has agreed upon e.g. WIP limits.
  • Demonstrates superior facilitation and communication skills and coordinates and collaborates instinctively with other teams.
  • Leads the Scrum/Agile team’s efforts in relentless improvement and facilitates the team’s retrospective.
  • Ensures the goals, scope and product domain are understood by everyone on the Agile/Scrum team.


Skills/Knowledge

  • Relevant undergraduate BA, BS degree in IT or Business or equivalent experience
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM), PMI-ACP, SAFe SM preferred
  • 5+ years as a Scrum Master/project manager/program manager with dedicated agile teams using scrum/SAFe.
  • Good knowledge of Agile Lifecycle Management tools, particularly JIRA.
  • Communicative and social – competent demonstration of interpersonal and group facilitation skills including the ability to work with diverse stakeholders and personality types.
  • Willing and able to hold the team accountable to its vision and values.
  • Attitude of transparency – must desire to bring disclosure and transparency to the business about the team and grow business trust.
  • Creativity, initiative, and flexibility – tempered by pragmatism, patience, and attention to detail.
  • Proven capability of managing multiple priorities effectively and managing stakeholder expectations in potentially high stakes situations
  • Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization (including senior management) on issues of strategy, risk, process, and ongoing operations.
