ABOUT THE POSITION
As a Scrum Master, you will ensure the engineering team lives in an agile environment while ensuring proper communication channels between the Engineering Team and the Product Team. You will monitor the scrum efficiencies and processes while promoting improvement in quality, velocity, and predictability. As a servant leader, you will be expected to enforce and monitor agile practices at the team level, while facilitating and coaching, rather than directing. There will be other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions – Responsibilities
- Ability to work cross functionality with the engineering team and the product team to ensure customer success
- Facilitate Scrum rituals, including daily stand ups, sprint planning, refinement and retrospectives
- Define and maintain relative metrics to help the team see their progress
- Assist the development team with any roadblocks that may prohibit them from completing sprint task assignments
- Increase group effectiveness and create a mutual learning environment, while mediating team conflicts and promoting relentless improvement
- Foster collaboration, communication and team building
- Ensure the team follows best practices in Scrum
- Coordinate daily stand ups and sprint planning
- Remain knowledgeable in the tools and technologies that the team is using
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience as a scrum master, preferably in a software engineering environment
- 4+ years of experience in software development, preferably Java
- Demonstrated experience in full stack development required
- Ability to work in a self-directed manner as well as a team environment
- Knowledgeable in group behavior dynamics
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills required
