The National Director of Business Development provides oversight to Seasons Hospice programs. This position will provide mentoring and guidance to program Directors and Hospice Care Consultants to further the development of relationships with managed care organizations, hospitals, nursing homes and other healthcare providers in the programs’ territories.
Assist the Executive Director and the Executive Team in creating and implementing a business development plan.
May provide assistance interviewing, hiring, training and managing the HCC activities.
Provide guidance to HCC’s on how to:
- Determine the appropriate physicians in the service area who influence or make referral decisions to familiarize them with the hospice program of care.
- Meet with appropriate physician office staff nurses to familiarize them with the patient characteristics and needs that indicate an appropriate hospice referral.
- Determine appropriate hospital discharge planners and floor nurses and how to establish a positive referral relationship.
* Determine appropriate long-term care facility administrative and clinical staff and how to establish a positive referral relationship.* Encourage HCC’s and Directors, Business Development (DBD) to develop opportunities to conduct in-service presentations in physician offices, hospitals, and nursing homes.
- Encourage HCCs and DBD’s on coordinating utilization review with providers.
Communicate with providers, attending physicians, hospice staff and other agencies as needed to ensure excellent provider relations.
Demonstrate familiarity with policies of the agency and state(s) and federal regulations pertaining to Hospice services.
Plan and prepare motivational meetings with marketing staff and provide marketing tools to assist them in increasing census.
Act as a customer service advocate.
Act as role model and mentor for staff
Previous management experience in hospice, home health, healthcare sales required.
