General Purpose of the Role/Job Position Summary Description:
The Head of Product Management for Nokia Enterprise Analytics & IoT is responsible for both product planning and marketing. This includes managing products throughout their lifecycle, gathering and prioritizing customer requirements, defining vision, and working closely with product managers and engineering to deliver products that win in the market.
This role also involves working with research and development, sales, marketing and support to deliver integrated plans for product introduction; and marketing strategies aligned with Nokiaâs overall strategy and goals. As the department head, this role includes aligning product managers to ensure these positions are properly staffed, supported and their responsibilities are effectively executed.
The Head of Product Management is also tasked with overseeing innovation and improvement of the businessâs product as well as day-to-day activities in such a way that ensures the product is constantly evolving to suit consumer needs. The Head of Product Management further ensures that necessary steps are taken to make any modifications being made in the product, or strategy achieve the best results for the business.
In this capacity, the Head of Product Management is responsible for identifying opportunities leading to the growth through innovation, while maintaining the fundamental business goals/priorities.
Key Responsibilities / Functions:
- Define the product strategy and roadmap
- Determine customer needs and desires by executing the research needed to obtain market information, engaging with customers during the sales and implementation cycles as necessary
- Work with partner leader to assess potential new partnerships and licensing opportunities
- Be an expert on the competition; assesses market competition by comparing the company’s products to competitors’ products.
- Develop the core positioning and messaging for the product
- Perform product demos to customers when required
- Set pricing to meet revenue and profitability goals: Determines product pricing by utilizing market research data; reviewing production and sales costs; anticipating volume; costing special and customized orders.
- Brings new products to market by analyzing total addressable market, proposed product requirements and product development programs; preparing return-on-investment analyses; establishing time schedules with engineering and manufacturing.
- Provides information for management by preparing short-term and long-term product sales forecasts
- Work with Marketing to develop sales tools and collateral
- Propose an overall budget to ensure success
- Brief and train the sales force on new products and product updates
- Provide thought leadership within the business unit
- Maintains product management staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
- Maintains product management team results by counseling and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies and industry events.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Supports the sales team in selling activities where appropriate

Required Minimum Qualifications: (Education, Technical Skills/Knowledge)
- At least 10 years’ experience as a Product Manager or Product Marketing Manager
- 5+ years of demonstrated experience in successfully defining and launching products
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Masterâs degree, MBA preferred
- Demonstrated skills in people management, understanding the customer, product development, requirements analysis, pricing, planning, competitive analysis, and sales
- Technical background, with experience in enterprise products
- Excellent teamwork skills
- Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
- Must be able to travel 20% of the time
- Examples and at least one sample of an effective document delivered in the past
