POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Internship serves as a member of the Management Team and Clinical Directors team and oversees all aspects of the APA Accredited Doctoral Internship Program, including supervision and training of post-doctoral residents, doctoral interns, and practicum students. The primary responsibilities include providing clinical and administrative leadership, training, and support for YOC programs including psychodiagnostic services, psychotherapeutic consultation, programming consultation, and support for clinicians and program staff and providing administrative support to the Chief Clinical Officer and the Assistant Chief Clinical Officer. This position also oversees the treatment of outpatient clients through case staffings and record review.
PRIMARY JOB EXPECTATIONS
- Manages and leads all aspect of accreditation and compliance with CoA standards to maintain APA Accreditation for the Doctoral Internship Program.
- Provides guidance, supervision and consultation to Postdoctoral Residents, Doctoral Interns and Practicum Students regarding their clinical caseloads, i.e. diagnostic and therapy cases.
- Provides guidance, consultation and training to clinicians and program staff that contributes to the effective implementation of therapeutic interventions and trauma-informed care within the milieu.
- Completes written performance evaluations of Postdoctoral Residents, Doctoral Interns, and Practicum Students and provide feedback regarding their performance on a regular basis.
- Provides administrative oversight of the YOC Mental Health Outpatient Clinic, consultation through case staffings and records review, and assists in completing evaluations of outpatient clinicians. Direct supervision of outpatient counsellors will occur only as needed.
- Assists in the development and maintenance of a productive and healthy treatment environment for staff, clinicians, and residents.
- Coordinates all aspects of recruitment and selection of Doctoral Interns according to APPIC standards and procedures.
- Coordinates and networks with Training Directors of universities in all aspects of recruitment and selection of Post-Doctoral Residents and Practicum Students.
- Assists in creating, organizing and maintaining orientation and training materials for Post-Doctoral Residents, Doctoral Students and Practicum Students.
- Implements programing that meet standards of accreditation and promotes best practices in mental health.
- Assists in the identification and monitoring of performance indicators and outcome data.
- Assists with providing quality customer service to internal and external customers (i.e. families, courts, Juvenile Probation Departments, Department of Child Services, schools etc.).
- Ensures adherence to organizational policies and compliance with all external regulations and standards.
- Ensures quality clinical documentation and services are being completed timely and in accordance with state and federal regulatory standards including Medicaid.
- Ensure supervisees are meeting expectations for therapy and psycho-diagnostic testing cases.
- Facilitates group supervision and coordinates the didactic schedule for the Doctoral Internship Program.
- Attends court to provide expert and factual testimony and assists in communicating clinical recommendations to the court (as needed).
- Provides diagnostic and/or therapeutic services as needed.
- Assists in determining diagnostic and clinical recommendations.
- Provides and oversees crisis intervention and management services.
- Develops and facilitate trainings for YOC staff and the community.
- Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to ensure effective therapy, evaluation, and integrated treatment.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE NEEDED
A doctoral degree in psychology, must be licensed as a Psychologist in the State of Indiana, and have at least 5 years of experience supervising therapeutic services and diagnostic testing.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Director of Internship supervises the Post-Doctoral Residents, Doctoral Students, Practicum Students, and provides administrative oversight over the YOC Mental Health Outpatient Clinic.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Typical work week is Monday-Friday 40 hours. Position requires additional hours when necessary to complete special projects or meet specific deadlines. The Director of Internship Training will have regular contact with the YOC program/clinical staff members, members of office administration, and YOC executive team. Direct contact with state agencies, accrediting bodies, and placing agencies by phone and in person is a function of this position. Courtesy and professionalism are expected at all times.
COMPENSATION
This position is full-time, and compensation includes a competitive salary and benefits plan.
