Summary: Responsible for enhancing and improving the SRI experience specifically in zestful activities for residents. Demonstrates and promotes SRI?s core value of the Golden Rule which includes treating others (residents, families, visitors and associates) in the same manner we would like to be treated. Responsible and accountable for the organization, planning, development of all programming and regular activities that are fun and exciting to our residents. Maintains physical conditioning and overall health, improving appetite and inspiring new friendships by performing the following duties.
- Creates and adheres to a monthly activity calendar.
- Speaks to/interacts with residents constantly at all levels of care while showing empathy, kindness, compassion, and respect.
- Coordinates special events for residents, families, and staff and assists the community relations department as requested.
- Transports and supervises residents on outings, shopping trips, and doctorâs visits.
- Screens, recruits, trains, and coordinateâs all volunteers.
- Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly environment for all residents.
- Provides training, guidance, and support to staff to meet established performance standards and expectations related to life enrichment programming and activities.
- Acts as facilitator and takes minutes at resident council meetings.
- Follows up on any concerns voiced or discussed at the resident council meeting with the appropriate department manager by providing resolution and reports/documents of resolution at the next resident council meeting.
- Observes and reports to supervisor daily all changes in the residents health and emotional condition.
- Demonstrates the ability to set and manage priorities.
- Responds promptly and courteously to resident’s request for assistance including phone calls and requests from family members and visitors.
- Practices good body mechanics and safe working habits.
- Knows, understands and follows established policy and procedures in emergency situations.
- Works as a team player with other associates and management in accomplishing work assignments.
- Demonstrates a positive and respectful attitude with residents, families, visitors, associates and management.
- Assists in mentoring new employees.*
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred and at least one year of related experience and/or training in life enrichment/activities services or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Additional Eligibility Requirements
- Must submit to and pass a drug test pursuant to Company Drug-Free Workplace Policy which includes random testing as well as a level II background screening
