Director of Accounting

Lead and manage the Real Estate Investment (REI) group’s accounting operation activity for the real estate equity investments by providing direct oversight to the accounting staff responsible for transaction processing, reconciliations and accounting compliance for Pacific Life, PL affiliates and third party clients, including

1) Daily accounting process for all equity real estate property and fund investments

2) Statutory, GAAP, and Tax financial statement accounting for PL, PL&A and PL affiliates

3) Monitor GAAP and STAT accounting guidance changes

4) Coordinate reporting requirements of the REI Asset Management team to ensure requests are completed in a timely manner

Responsible for facilitating operational compliance with all Corporate initiatives, programs and requirements (eg. Information Security, BCP, SOX, etc.) as applicable.

The position will be responsible for the most complex accounting, financial analysis and reporting tasks related to RE Equity Investment. Will be expected to complete complex accounting and financial reporting tasks; work independently and provide advice and counsel to supervisor.

Qualifications Minimum of 10 years accounting experience with progressive financial leadership within a complex environment CPA and public accounting experience is preferred Real Estate Industry experience BA/BS degree in accounting preferred Experience with PeopleSoft and Yardi a plus Solid understanding of investments accounting and reporting Strong technical, analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple responsibilities under tight time frames Strong oral and written communication skills Proven ability to build strong relationships and collaborate across a cross-functional team and influence senior leaders #LI-JB1For more than 150 years, Pacific Life has offered innovative products and services including life insurance, annuities, and mutual funds, along with a variety of investment products, all of which provide The Power to Help You Succeed.
