POSITION SUMMARY:
Key actuarial resource supporting special projects within the Life Finance department, primarily focused on the digital transformation initiative. This includes:
Modeling Capabilities
Assess and challenge current processes and participate in efforts to improve efficiency and effectiveness
Expand data infrastructure to capture and integrate critical data elements
Expand analysis framework through data, model, and team ecosystem
Explore model “sandbox” for agile analysis outside of production process
Target level is for a Director & Actuary with flexibility to consider candidates at other levels. Candidates who meet most but not all of the requirements are encouraged to apply. Actual job offer and title will be based on level of experience and skillset.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead small team
Institute and maintain proper controls and processes consistent with Model Risk Management guidance
Evaluate areas for improvement and use data analytics tools to modernize processes
Prioritize initiatives and ensure we stick to scope
Collaborate with SMEs and colleagues in other departments
Communicate and present results to management with clarity and appropriate depth
Develop and recommend strategies to address issues and improve performance
Maintain open and effective communication with key stakeholders
FACTORS FOR SUCCESS:
Bachelors Degree in Math, Actuarial Science or related discipline or equivalent work experience
FSA with 8+ years actuarial experience in life insurance
MG-ALFA experience a plus
Familiarity with data analytics tools (such as R, Python, Alteryx, Tableau) a plus
Strong analytical, problem-solving and organization skills
Excellent written and oral communications
Strong teamwork, relationship, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work with a wide variety of other departments, functions and levels within the company.
Ability to introduce innovative ideas and approaches in support of broader goals
