Your Impact:
  • Demonstrates expertise in and knowledge of online advertising, media planning/buying, and industry trends by increasing visibility of the agency’s credentials in the discipline both internally and externally.
  • Acts as a spokesperson for Publicis Sapient at industry events and/or with the press.
  • On behalf of clients, researches, analyzes, and monitors the impact of financial, technological, and demographic factors on the digital media space in order to capitalize on market opportunities for clients, and minimize the effects of competitive activity.
  • Commands a comprehensive understanding of marketing communications and translates this into guiding teams and clients in the development and execution of innovative media strategies and programs.
  • Spearheads the development of program strategies and analyses for Clients (e.g., target audience recommendation, media selection criteria/scoring model, geographic emphasis, timing/scheduling strategy).
  • Maintains ultimate accountability for the quality, strategy and integrity of all media plans/strategies/ services delivered to clients; resulting in the cultivation of client loyalty and retention. This includes the planning, buying and execution process; and managing/guiding the media staff in the continuous evaluation of and improvement upon media opportunities for our clients.
  • Develops, implements and monitors success of media/vendor relationships (including Core Strategic Partnerships).
  • Engages clients and client teams (i.e. Account Directors, the VP of Client Services, Associate Media Directors, Media Supervisors and Media Planners) to evaluate the success or failure of digital advertising/marketing initiatives, and plans for course correction and/or continual success as appropriate.
  • Analyzes program results, translates the data and uses it to create internal and external tools and references (i.e. POVs, case studies, lessons learned guidelines, or similar).
  • Collaborates with client teams (i.e. Account Directors, the VP of Client Services, Associate Media Directors, Media Supervisors and Media Planners) to identify opportunities for growth within existing client accounts, and presents new ideas to clients on an ongoing basis.
  • Contributes to new business efforts as a Media expert for our interactive marketing programs.
  • Works to solution, both from a client strategy and team and capabilities perspective. Develops initial staffing plans for new business opportunities (within existing clients, and new prospects). This includes collaborating with the VP/General Manager, VP of Media, and/or the Business Development Manager.
  • Manages the recruitment, retention and professional development of the media team. This includes: identifying and leveraging staff talent, providing industry and professional mentorship/development, and empowering staff decision making when appropriate. Also, collaborates with Associate Media Director and/or Media Supervisor to identify training needs and provide those opportunities as necessary and/or appropriate.
  • Monitors and evaluates the overall department structure to ensure we are positioned to meet deliverables for existing clients, accommodate new business opportunities and adjust to changing industry needs/trends.
  • Implements departmental policies and practices
  • Supports Publicis Sapient colleagues and team members with special projects as needed or requested.
  • Monitors trends in the digital marketing and advertising industry and collaborates with the VP of Media and VP of Client Services to ensure the Media Department (and our agency) is prepared for potential changes within the sector and positioned for success as an industry leader.
  • Performs other duties, and projects, as assigned


Your Skills & Experience:
  • A solid understanding of advertising, marketing and strategic brand management and how to best leverage these in a digital environment.
  • Knowledge of the digital marketing and advertising landscape, the unique technical aspects of the medium and their impact on the development and execution of media strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead team in a highly collaborative environment to develop and execute media plans for clients in a variety of industries.
  • Ability to delegate efficiently and manage internal media teams in the development and execution of effective plans for clients.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, a positive attitude and the ability to thrive in a collaborative agency environment with multi-disciplinary teams required.
  • Superior oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, and presentation skills.
  • Strong project management and performance management skills.
  • Demonstrated budget management and resource planning experience.
  • A positive attitude and the ability to thrive in a collaborative agency environment.
  • The ability to successfully manage multiple internal and external initiatives/projects in a deadline-driven environment.
  • A track record of participating in successful new business pitches.
  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from a four (4) year, accredited college or university in Advertising, Marketing, Communications, or related field.
  • A Masters or advanced professional degree in Advertising, Marketing, or similar is preferred.
  • A minimum of 8 years of prior experience in the development and implementation of media planning and buying strategies within the advertising industry.
  • A minimum of six (6) years of prior media experience specifically within the digital/interactive marketing and advertising industry.
