Overview

As a member of Deutsche Bank’s Legal Department in Jacksonville, Florida, you would be responsible for providing legal support to the Bank’s derivatives trading businesses. Your responsibilities will include drafting, reviewing and negotiating trading documentation; providing legal advice to relevant stakeholders within the Bank; and identifying legal and regulatory risk. Your role will involve liaising directly with the front office, other internal groups as well as the Bank’s diverse client base. Other responsibilities may include implementing regulatory changes affecting the trading of derivatives transactions.

Your Role

What You’ll Do:

  • Draft, review and negotiate trading documentation with the Bank’s clients and perform related administrative and recordkeeping tasks in accordance with the Bank’s policies and procedures
  • Manage pipeline of active negotiations in coordination with other members of the legal team
  • Liaise with other internal departments (i.e., credit, risk, compliance, operations, treasury, tax, etc.) as necessary
  • Assist with updating standard forms and templates
  • Assist with special projects, such as contract reviews
  • Review trading agreements for regulatory netting and collateral enforceability determinations

Skills You’ll Need:

  • Law degree and qualified as an attorney in NY, FL or other US jurisdiction
  • Relevant experience working at a law firm or as in-house counsel to a financial institution, investment bank or asset management firm
  • Transactional experience with derivatives trading agreements strongly preferred, including ISDA Master Agreements (including Schedules and Credit Support Annexes), master confirmation agreements, account control agreements or non-disclosure agreements
  • Substantive knowledge of the current regulatory framework impacting derivatives trading would be valuable
