Position Dimension & Scope:

The scope of the role includes providing HR leadership and functional support to the HR teams at the Pittsburgh and Philadelphia locations in the US and lending HR support to Quebec City, Quebec, Canada and managing direct reporting relationship to the HR department.

Main Purpose of Job:
Accountable for providing HR leadership and functional strategic direction to establish and lead a high-performing culture. The strategic direction will include optimizing organizational design, developing and maintaining a healthy talent pipeline, seamlessly execution of workforce and succession plans, ensure delivery of all HR services, and drive performance and talent management to meet business goals and objectives.


HR Strategy & Execution:


Drive the creation & execution of the people strategy that attracts, develops and retains employees to support the organizational short and long-term strategic needs. Oversee and provide flawless execution of local, and Global HR initiatives. Coordinate and execute workforce planning for the locations within scope. Ensure a culture & working environment that is open, built on trust and respect and reflective of the Company’s Purpose and Values.

Organizational Design & Development:


Pro-actively challenge the established organizational structure to drive performance. Manage organizational changes using best practice and change management methodologies. Shape the culture to align with the Company’s goals & initiatives through supporting & coaching people leaders in their implementation of people processes and team building across all sites. Work with leaders to define team and organizational development needs required to meet business goals and objectives.

Delivery of HR Services:


Manage overall HR delivery of process and practices to the business through the HR team, HR Specialty areas, and HR services. Examples: Training: Organize and implement training/development programs that meet the goals and objectives of the team/individual to ensure a continuous supply of highly trained and motivated employees. Recruiting: Establishes effective manpower planning, recruitment, and staffing strategies. Partnering with managers to determine required skills, knowledge and abilities of the position. Extends employment offers, conducts salary negotiations and oversees the on-boarding process. Benefits: Communicates and administers cost effective employee benefit programs including health and wellness plans, and financial security plans including 401 (k), Life, AD&D, and STD/LTD. Partners with Atrium HR Leadership Team to provide and administer all corporate insurance policies.

Performance & Talent Management:


Establish goal clarity through objective setting in order to meet business priorities. Lead aligned performance and talent calibration process including clearly defined on-going development plans reflective of talent rating. Implement succession planning and talent management plans that identify health and diversity of succession in collaboration with business objectives. Ensure People Leaders use tools effectively to assist individual and team performance improvement at all levels. Identify opportunities to further collaborate across the Company to share talent and development experiences and opportunities.

Employee Relations:


Ensure effective working relationships with (and between) people leaders and employees. Establish relationships with employees at all levels of the organization. Establish and maintain a culture and environment aligned with the Company’s Purpose and Values, reflective of trust and respect. Serves as a mediator to resolve employee issues and advises management on progressive discipline matters. Partner with the leadership team to ensure a culture where employees feel engaged and empowered to perform their best. Ability to coach, lead and develop on the importance of establishing a strong culture.
Functional Development:

Build HR capabilities through development of HR competencies to meet the department’s/company’s standards, goals and objectives. Work as part of a cross-functional HR team to develop or improve HR practices and processes that contribute to enhancing the company’s employee experience and value proposition.

Strategic Partnerships:


Develop strategic alliances with business partners, managers, employees, in order to identify efficiencies to further align HR practice, policy or procedure. Serve as a functional resource to HR teams and collaborate with Market and Global HR to identify and implement best practices.

    Qualifications


    Experience and Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s (BA or BS) in Business, HR Management or related field.
  • Master’s degree preferred, in Business or HR concentration
  • At least 8 years of experience in Human Resources/Employee Relations.
  • Human Resource experience would include HR Business Partner roles in large, fast-paced, complex organizations.
  • In addition, familiarity with and experience in recruitment, employee relations, employee communications, coaching, HR Analytics and compensation administration.
  • PHR or SPHR Certification is preferred.
  • Experience in Healthcare, Pharma or Medical Devices is a plus.
  • Must be able to travel domestically approximately 20-30%
  • Must be technologically skilled; must be proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with the following HR Technologies/Systems preferred: SAP, Success Factors, and Taleo.
