Position Details

The Assistant Director will be tasked helping execute the long-term marketing & communication strategies for Rutgers Camden’s degree programs. The Assistant Director will have a solid understanding of multi-channel marketing strategies and will offer recommendations for messaging solutions, which are grounded in research and best practice, to both external and internal audiences in a variety of media, web, print, mail, social, event, and more. The Assistant Director will collaborate and serve as the representative for all graduate programs as a member of a newly created marketing communications department and will interact with students, faculty, administrators, and alumni. The Assistant Director will serve as a senior member of the team to assist with concept development, quality control and ensure assignments deliver on time and on budget. The Assistant Director may supervise strategic partners such as agencies, freelance talent, video and interactive vendors, printers, and manage complex projects for the campus. Working with the Director of Campus Marketing, their responsibilities include planning, development and implementation of all Rutgers Camden graduate marketing strategies and marketing communications.

- Bachelor’s degree with minimum of 6-8 years experience in marketing and communications.

Knowledge of higher education is helpful, though not requried. Agency or industry experience appreciated. In addition, knoweldge in the field of marketing using traditional tactics coupled with digital and social strategies. Experience with an analytics based approach to implementing, testing and adjusting marketing campaigns would be an asset.
Microsoft suite (excel, word,powerpoint), and Google Analtyics required. Basic Html, Adobe Indesign and Photoshop preferred.
