Warehouse Manager

We are looking for an effective Warehouse Manager for our client in Altamont, NY for a direct-placement opportunity. The successful candidate will direct receiving, warehousing and distribution operations. You will oversee the efficient receipt, storage, value-adding servicing and dispatch of a wide variety of products. The warehouse operations manager will maintain and organize and warehouse and production activities, maintain and inspect material handling equipment, order supplies, direct all inventory receiving, stocking, packaging, order fulfillment, and outbound distribution services. This position will supervise, lead and manage a permanent warehouse team as well as a flex staff brought in for projects.

Ultimately, you should be able to ensure productivity targets are achieved and that all warehouse processes are running smoothly and promptly.

• Maintains receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
• Complies with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements. Enforcing adherence to requirements and advises management on needed actions.
• Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
• Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts; reconciling with inventory management and control systems
• Maintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.
• Completes warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.

• Maintains warehouse staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
• Maintains warehouse staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

• Must have forklift experience and previous forklift certification
• Reports to CFO
