System Director, Virtual Health & Telemedicine

System Director, Virtual Health & Telemedicine will direct strategy and operations for virtual health and telemedicine programs across the continuum of care.The role will be responsible for program quality, efficiency and financial performance; new program development and implementation; and effective integration of virtual health into BSMH service offerings and care continuum.

Essential Job Functions

Operational oversight of virtual health programs across the continuum of care (acute facility support, clinic-to-clinic, provider-to-provider and direct-to-patient/consumer) including expense and resource management and day-to-day decision making

Serve as subject matter expert (SME) for BSMH on virtual health reimbursement, regulations and policy

Direct the BSMH Virtual Health team, manage the team budget, establish team priorities in alignment with BSMH Strategic Plan and drive achievement of team objectives in a timely and efficient manner

Lead and facilitate new program planning and development and associated committee and governance structures, ensuring new programs are aligned with strategic objectives and preferred operational models

In partnership with “Medical Director, Virtual Health”, encourage and drive increased adoption and participation from employed providers in virtual health initiatives

Develop, implement and continuously monitor strategies and work plans for sustainable revenue growth and reimbursement optimization across all existing and new virtual health programs

Effectively manage relationships and contracts with virtual health vendors, hardware and software technology partners and contracted physician / provider groups

Evaluate BSMH virtual health technology landscape and develop 3-year roadmap to standardize technology and vendor relationships to improve quality, efficiency and leverage core systems and functionality

Diversify BSMH revenue streams and service offerings thru business-to-business (B2B) sales of virtual health programs and capabilities

Required Minimum Education

Masters Degree – MHA, MBA, or Master’s Degree in a related field of study

Required Minimum Years and Type of Experience

8+ years experience working in healthcare or relevant field

Other Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Required

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to achieve objectives while working across multiple departments and managing diverse stakeholder groups. Knowledge and experience in virtual health/telemedicine AND in at least one (preferably several) of the following: Consumerism, patient engagement, population health, strategy & business development; or acute, ambulatory, physician practice operations.
