Senior Project Manager

Salon Ultimate (Open Spend, Inc.) is looking for tech savvy, organized, friendly, motivated, and enthusiastic individuals to join our fast-growing international company. Founded in 2012, Salon Ultimate is an innovative, all-in-one point of sale software platform for independent and enterprise salons and spas. To date, we have managed over 100+ million customer booking appointments for our clients.

We are currently seeking a Senior Project Manager for our Austin, Texas location. As a team member for Salon Ultimate, you will work in a fast-paced environment while playing the vital role of a project manager. The Senior project managers are involved in overseeing the project management team as well as the budgets, schedules, and scopes of multiple projects from start to completion. To succeed in this position, impeccable organizational skills, extensive experience with JIRA, a strong multi-tasking ability, and exemplary writing skills are a necessity. Additionally, a strong desire to work with an international team, in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment is required.

The Senior Project Manager responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Supervise project managers, including overseeing their progress, ensuring they are working their schedules, and participating in their performance reviews.

• Oversee multiple projects simultaneously and ensure projects are completed successfully and on schedule.

• Responsible for the creation and management of project management plans, schedules, and major milestones.

Acts as the point of escalation for risks, issues and obstacles raised by project teams, ensuring action items are clearly defined, assigned to team members, and resolved expeditiously.

• Flexibility to adjust project scopes, schedules, and resources as needed, based on company and project demands.

• Develops comprehensive, detailed, written project plans, which include time and resource estimates.

• Deliver weekly project updates to stakeholders.

• Report project statuses to the business team on an as needed basis.

• Identify and communicate any foreseen issues, delays, or necessary resources to appropriate team members.

• Oversee the software release process, through documenting plans, schedule for release, and creating corresponding release documentation.

• Oversee the weekly sprint process with development team leads. Ensure all tasks are assigned to the appropriate team members. Ensure clear and realistic goals.

• Manage and resolve any issues that arise during the development process and then coordinate with the weekly sprints.

Minimum requirements:

• 10+ years of relevant project manager experience, or 5+ years of project management for a tech company.

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in management, information technology, business, or a related discipline.

• Comprehensive knowledge of the project management areas of competency, procedures, and methodology.

• Demonstrated knowledge of project life cycle processes.

• 5+ years of JIRA experience.

• Understanding of Scrum / Agile methodology.

• Exemplary oral and written communication skills.

• Technologically savvy, and can easily learn new applications.

• Ability to build relationships at all levels and work in a team atmosphere.

• Positive attitude, sense of humor, and ability to maintain composure and work efficiently in time-sensitive situations is a necessity.
