PURPOSE STATEMENT

Responsible for attainment of annual sales goals and objectives for all assigned Chain Direct accounts in alignment with overall In-Store Bakery & Deli (ISBD) sales strategy

This is a remote role and would be best suited in: Boston, Charlotte, or Philadelphia


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/OUTCOMES

Develop annual account plan, by assigned account, designed to exceed Division sales and profit objectives

Proactively create new business-building opportunities to support growth of new or existing product categories within assigned chain direct account.

Formalize proposals to support Customer requests with fact-based, value proposition elements in response to new selling opportunities

Develop/present category reviews, focused on value proposition selling tools, including retail merchandising program support and logistic efficiency solutions in a proactive manner

Articulate clearly and accurately Customer needs to Division channel Marketers and appropriate

Marketing leadership to gain support and commitment for new selling opportunities

Reestablish/reinforce relationship building practices within assigned National Account to support top down understanding of internal account working/objectives and direction

Develop and utilize consistent communication plan for internal/external contact with appropriate Associates to ensure commitment, support and follow up to all National Account activities

Support/Develop compliance plan to ensure all sales and governance processes are being completed.

  • Account targeting and planning.
  • Forecasting expectations.
  • Monthly update of Governance Reports

Actively develop solid relationships throughout assigned accounts to ensure support is in place with all national accounts.

Ensure utilization of retail “pull-through” marketing programs at all appropriate segments and support retail marketing resources to proactively develop measurable selling.

Assume lead position with program negotiations with all assigned chain direct accounts.

Development of internal network at WHQ to ensure clear understanding of Manufacturing, Operations, Quality Assurance, Research & Development and Marketing competencies to support a better understanding of RPC deliverables by Department. This will support/reinforce quick, accurate information back to Customer/marketplace base.

Clear understanding of expectations and deliverables on the following:

  • Customer-based forecasting/demand planning.
  • Promotion processing.
  • Deduction management and follow up.

Clear, accurate understanding of competitive environment at each assigned account. This will include understanding strengths and weaknesses of each, manufacturing competencies, level of support, etc.


KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Bachelors degree in Business or related field

Minimum 5+ years in Food Industry

Minimum 5 years experience in retail channel – in-store bakery preferred

Excellent negotiation and presentation skills

Solid written communication skills

Ability to work independently

Effective in team environment

Understanding of Customer P&Ls

PC proficiency to include Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint

75% travel
