Zoetis is the Animal Health industry leader known for developing, acquiring and commercializing first in class products and delivering solutions that help veterinarians provide a higher level of care to their patients. We are seeking a highly experienced Commercial Development leader to join a winning team to lead and drive the successful management of our diagnostic instrument systems and reference laboratories. This role will be responsible for strategic portfolio direction and managing all elements of the global product development teams to insure products meet the market requirements for our instrument portfolio and reference laboratory testing. Responsible for defining strategy, planning, forecasting and product development.

Responsibilities:

The primary responsibilities include, but is not limited to:

  • Collaborate with R&D, Global Manufacturing and Supply, and Commercial businesses to lead, develop and execute against long-term species innovation strategies across the continuum of care.
  • Develop global commercialization plans including strategy, launch sequence, and lifecycle plans for all of Zoetis’ Diagnostics assets.
  • Lead the multi-functional Global Asset Teams for key Diagnostics franchises as well as reference laboratories and present recommendations to Zoetis leadership.
  • Lead the Diagnostics sub-teams within Petcare and Livestock Commercial Development verticals and align Diagnostics strategy to Species strategies.
  • Collaborate with Business Development, External Innovation, and Corporate Strategy teams to identify potential acquisitions that are consistent with established strategy.
  • Work across species business units to understand BU needs and uncover product opportunities then translate to requirements for commercial development to achieve goals.
  • Ensure that global materials’ repository is populated with key asset materials aligned to strategies and is leveraged globally.
  • Track global performance of Zoetis and competitive products and landscape.
  • Track emerging technologies and innovation occurring externally to Zoetis.

Requirements:

  • Strong executive presence and collaborative working style with the ability to drive transformation.
  • History of being resourceful, self-motivating, ability to operate with limited direction and prioritize based on business value.
  • Ability to rapidly assimilate and apply new knowledge in emerging areas.
  • Experience leading major projects in organizations of similar size and complexity.
  • Long record of success in developing business plans and financial models with a positive outcome.
  • Innovation is critical, utilizing various financial structures, outsourcing opportunities, public communications and competitive intelligence.

Skills:

  • Experience working in Commercial Development and/or significant experience/involvement/knowledge of the product development process.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills and ability to influence without authority.
  • Strong individual leadership presence.
  • Strong financial analysis skills and proven ability to create forecasts and scenarios.
  • Successful experience leading cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to oversee complex, cross-functional projects that require input from many internal and external stakeholders.
  • Possesses in-depth knowledge and expertise in marketing disciplines; brand management; market research; communications strategy; customer insight.
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office and ability to learn Zoetis systems).

Qualifications and Experience:

  • BS /BA and relevant experience required. MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of in-line marketing experience and a proven record demonstrating successful strategy development and new product launches.
  • Animal Health experience preferred.
