The Head of Corporate Units Strategic Finance will work with all our Corporate Units and across CFO to develop insights and analysis to increase. The incumbent will report to the Head of Strategic Finance Business Partners, who reports to the CFO.Â
As the senior corporate finance executive working regularly with the senior management team of MassMutual’s Corporate Units, this role is responsible for:
- Working closely with the Corporate Unit leadership teams to use financial tools and data to add value and inform decisions. Corporate Units are: Corporate Finance, Investment Management, Enterprise Risk Management, Law, and Human Resources
- Working with the Corporate Unit leadership teams on the development of strategic plans, and short-term and long-term management goals and objectives.
- Actively contributing to and at times leading projects/initiatives.
- Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with corporate unit leadership teams.
- Strong knowledge of Corporate Unit services, operations, key metrics, performance and industry trends.
- Making available primarily and/or through dashboards high quality information to assess performance and inform decisions, working with FP&A, Controllers, Corporate Strategy, Actuarial and others. This includes analyzing variances, identifying and monitoring key activity drivers and risks, benchmarking, communicating trends and observations in real time.
- Contributing to and reviewing driver-based forecasts for reasonableness.
- Communicating complex information and analysis in clear, understandable terms with appropriate context, focused on actionable content.
Leadership Responsibilities:
- Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with key business and corporate leaders.

- Inspire, lead and execute on CFO 2020 finance transformation, including data-driven financial analysis, automated reporting, advanced analytics; developing staff and successors for key roles. Also, work to influence the culture, promoting self-service, collaboration, benchmarking and disciplined cost-benefit analyses
- Create an environment that fosters a culture of empowerment and collaboration.
- Actively support the division’s efforts to attract, retain, and develop top-tier diverse talent.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience leading  and developing high caliber teams
- Required: Significant experience in sophisticated environments partnering with businesses and/or corporate units, using financial insights, tools and information to add value.
- Knowledge of and experience with applicable U.S. GAAP and statutory financial reporting requirements
- Exceptional relationship building and influencing skills
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to convey complex information in readily understandable terms.
- Demonstrated experience with creative problem-solving
- Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple deliverables
- Ability to travel between Boston and Springfield at least one to two days/week
- Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future
