Serenbe Playhouse
, a programming division of the Serenbe Institute for Art, Culture, & the Environment, is seeking a Guest Experience Director to oversee the Front of House and Box Office operations.

The position requires strong time management, administrative and multi-tasking skills with sales skills a significant plus. The Guest Experience Director oversees all part-time box office, front of house, and concessions personnel while dual-reporting to the Marketing Director and Managing Director. The ideal candidate will have outstanding interpersonal skills, the ability to multi-task and work independently, and have a passion for the arts.

The position is available with a start date as early as January 5, 2020 and is full time, on-going.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Run and manage regular box office tasks including sales, reporting, and event creation
  • Create and execute the “Front of House Experience” creating an immersive setting that extends the world of the play into the audience
  • Act as Front of House Manager or Staff on Duty at least 3 nights a week at performances
  • Oversee concession and merchandise sales including ordering, stocking, creation of new items, and meeting applicable sales goals
  • Establish and execute guest service and safety protocols and systems
  • Actively pursue Group Sales opportunities (commission incentive applicable)
  • Attend staff meetings, sales meetings, concept meetings, production meetings – generally be the voice for Front of House Experience
  • Hire, train, and manage a team of volunteers/interns/part time help in both box office and front of house

Ideal Skills

  • Experience with complex computer software; ticket software experience preferred
  • At least 3 years in Guest Services with at least 1 in leadership
  • Ability to create reports in databases and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong guest recovery skills
  • Ability to create and implement sales initiatives to meet defined goals
  • Flexibility and the ability to prioritize and work independently
  • Must be available for night, weekend, and holiday work
  • Valid GA driver’s license (for driving and for pouring permit)
  • Background check is performed as this role interacts with cash

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Handle high stress environments, crowds and loud noises (both sustained and intermittent)
  • Work outdoors and in various terrains and weather conditions including extreme heat and humidity, rain, and cold climates
  • Must be able to lift upward of 50lbs and be attentive for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to provide exceptional guest service in conditions that are not ideal.
